BFL for Wed Feb 13th 2008

Melissa,

First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your DD! Good luck with the pancakes tonight and congratulations for resisting the cookies! I am so proud of you! Did you put them in the car?

Peanut butter! I tried Heidi's shake recipe...DELICIOUS!!! :9

My UB workout went really well! I upped my weights to new levels! :7 I'm sure I will feel it tomorrow, thanks Gayle! ;-)

I am so glad I found you all! You push me to eat better, exercise harder and believe in myself. I never could have done it alone, so I want to thank each and every one of you fantastic ladies.

Have a great afternoon! :+

(I like the smilies, can you tell? :p )

Hi,

Hey Melissa: Here's a trick for ya...DS tried to stay home this morning. While I was out dropping off my DD at the train station....he thought he could trick me by heating up the thermometer with hot kettle water. Ohhh... luckily I have several....let's just re-test this I said. :)
Gosh I am a mean mom huh!? He only has a couple of days left before going on winter break so he could at least finish up the week.

I agree...they should have just cancelled for the day concidering they start so late. Most of the day is just spent switching through lunches it seems.

Great job on avoiding those chocolate chip cookies!

I hope your DD has a wonderful BD. :+

Gayle: Your sons are lucky they get off from school so easy. It was raining here heavy around 6:30am and was just mushy out. My DH went out to start the truck and came back in complaining he was soaked. I just had to laugh....maybe he thought he was going to melt. ;-)

We have two sump pumps in the basements just in case our drainage system fails. Good thing! When we first built here we had our cellar flood 3'. The 2 oldest kids were paddling a small boat around the basement. (No power of course) Too funny huh.

Belinda: Speaking of dogs...my DD went out for a 3.5mi run around the neighborhood and came home with a beautiful golden retriever/poodle mix. He was pretty young and didn't know how to handle passing cars. DD said that it almost got hit! Luckily it had dog tags so I called the vet to find out the number of the owners.
Dogs are just like young children and should be taken care of as such. I would feel terrible if anything should happen to one that followed me home.

I am glad that you take care of your dogs and enjoy them. Some people have them and just ignore them. Such a shame.

Well....on to get some things done. BBL Heidi

Hi Stephanie!

We were posting at the same time....

Glad you enjoyed your shake! Great for after a hard workout like you did today. Great job!

Have a good rest of the day. BBL Heidi

Belinda - iTread 21 walking intervals was a nice workout. Grace gives you three ranges to walk in (beginner, intermediate, advanced). I started with beginner just because I wasn't feeling up to doing much but by the 15 minute mark I was doing the intermediate speeds. First she has you go up a hill, then fast walking, then another hill, and lastly fast walking.

Thanks for the suggestions on the iTreads. I am going to have to pull out those and try them. I have such a variety since I had the membership for two years (where you get 3 a month). I am no longer a subscriber to iTrain since I doubt I will use all the ones I have.

I also enjoy Runervals 7.0 workout A. It is a 23 minute workout and consists of 10 rounds of 30 second sprints, 90 second recovery. I try to do this one once a week. I do warm-up and cool-down on my own so I spread it out to 30 minutes. I feel this one is like a HIIT workout because for the sprints your going all out as to where you really need the recovery time.

Hope everyone is doing well today.

Rhonda

Stephanie - DD is very excited today! And no, I did not end up having to put the cookies in the car. It is a great idea though. Maybe I should do that with the peanut butter...

Heidi - DD would have done just about anything to skip out of school today. That DS of yours is pretty resourceful!! I feel kind of bad that I sent her on her bday, but she would have missed her little celebration with her classmates. Oh well, sometimes us mom's have to be tough! Gayle should know that all too well, what with the "naked women" escapade...;-) :7 !!

Melissa-so glad DD is having a nice BDay! Congrats on resisting that broken cookie, not to mention the rest of the good-looking ones too! LOL I put things in my car all the time! HA!

Hey all! Stopping by before we head out to dinner. Kids want to go to the Olive Garden. They've been on mid-winter break this week and haven't done much. DH's breaks are never at the same time, so I took off the next 2 days to do something fun here in town, though not sure what yet.

Belinda - What kind of dogs do you have again? I think you already told us, but I can't keep track. I can't wait until our 7 month old golden is 2 years old - I need a running buddy! She's not quite to that long of a walk yet - really likes the same surroundings and can only do a little new stuff at a time.

Tammy - Good for you doing the abs, too. I "forget" those sometimes. Hope your drive to work wasn't too bad.

Kathy - Did you get your workout in yet this evening? With as much as you are doing, I'm sure you needed the extra rest for a change.

Michelle - Way to go after the workout, lifting like the hardcore ladies. Looks like you might be starting to pass me up!

Stephanie - Yes, only one roll, and they're small, nothing like the size of a Cinnabon. I figured after that drive home yesterday, it was ok for the little cheat.

Carolyn - It's only 2 days! You can bounce back and will do fine. Just get rid of that cold!

Rhonda - Where in MI? I'm in the southeast in West Bloomfield. At least today was sunny for a change.

Gayle - You are right, for next week's LBWO's, I should mix it up, either B&G or GS's. My body is just probably used to rhythm of PLB now. What a workout you did today! yes, the protein waffle recipe seems big, but if you look at the ingredients, it compares fairly well to the pancakes, some extra protein due to the powder. And it is very filling.

Heidi - No, you aren't a mean mom. Can you move their alarm clocks up 10 minutes and not tell the kids? That's not mean, just motivational.

Melissa - Glad you can join us at the gym in the a.m. Hope DD is enjoying her birthday. And great job resisting those cookies!

OK, Indiana Jones is about over. Time to head out. See you all at the gym in the a.m. - cardio of some kind for tomorrow.

Hey, Sherry. Funny waffle story! I made the batch in my waffle stick maker. It makes 2 sets of sticks, that you then break apart so you can dip them in syrup. I put the mixture in, and 4 mintues later, it was lopsided and the front end of the lid was up but the back end was still down, so my waffles were lopsided! And squished on the back end. You should have seen the kids laughing at them! LOL Tomorrow, I'm probably going to try it in my Belgian waffle maker....it's lid (I think) is hinged better to allow for the rising.

ANYWAY.....they were YUMMY!!!!!! Thanks for sharing that recipe!

And you're right...the portions of the egg whites, protein powder and the oats really ARE a single serving. Gotta love LARGE servings, hugh? LOL

OK.....my training schedule calls for a 7-mile HILL run tomorrow. I may switch tomorrow and Friday's runs. So, I'm thinking tomorrow may be LIC cardio premix and abs. But it will be a game day decision! LOL
