BFL for Wed Apr 09th 2008

Melissa - I get the Power Systems catalog and I know I've seen them in there but I can't find it on the site! I'll look it up when I get home. Anyway, they're probably 2'x 2' (or 18" x 18") and they have a cushion on the bottom so it absorbs the shock (kind of like a rebounder but not a mesh interior). Ugh, hard to explain, lol. I'll find a picture later. ;)

LOL, I have a high step and a step with 4 risers so I think I have 9? Yikes!

Hey guys! I AM HERE! In one piece! And.....drum roll.....

I am the New PTA President for the 2008-2009 school year! WOO HOO! Nobody DARED oppose me last night! I was staring them all down! lol Seriously, it felt really good to have all those hands go up in the air to back me up. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers on this too!

I have to go back and read all of yesterday's and today's posts. I've been in a funk for about 24 hours. I took 2 steps back Monday night and all day Tuesday, food-wise. Not sure what the cause was, perhaps nerves about the elections or whatever, but I let it get to me and I indulged in anything and everything that wasn't nailed down, that wasn't in the garbage can, or that wasn't CAT FOOD! :) But back at it today. I actually just came in from a nice 3+ mile OUTDOOR run. It's 60 out there today, forecasted for 70s tomorrow, but hard torrential RAIN for this weekend, which is our baseball season openers. Figures, right?

I hope you're all doing well. I promise to read and get caught up. Sorry, again, for being MIA these past 24 hours.

Hi girls,

I took my dogs for a walk at 5pm and came back at 7:30 pm. My legs feeling it! I know I will be sleeping like a baby tonight!

Kathy** I really like doing free weights! I guess I have to get used to the Bowfelx! I don't have any free weights left in Texas! I got all my free weight here! Thank goodness, I left my old step in the US!LOL! I think it will work doing the Bowflex BFL style!

Hi Gayle!

Congratulations on your PTA Presidency! Now that your there you can relax a bit. You will be very busy with school meetings and such I am sure. We will be here and will support you no matter what comes up to get you side tracked for the day. Life is busy plain and simple!

I am back home and waiting for DS to get ready for work. Then it is off to pick up other DS from school. If he is up for a walk at the park that would be great.

Came across a friend runner and she just started back running today after a year off. Her legs are soooo sore poor thing. She ended up getting a puppy which is now a year old and she thought taking it out for its first run would be a great start of a new trick. It did well and stuck with her all the way. Now it is wiped out and sleeping like a baby.:)

Sometimes the excitement of spring gets us all fired up and we end up doing too much too soon. Everything in moderation...right? We had a good laugh and hope to see each other on the trails.

Oh... on another note: Beware! Watch your credit card statements for fishy banks increasing your interest rate for no reason! This has happened to one of our business accounts. Needless to say we immediately closed the account! Darn greedy banks!!!
 
Congratulations Gayle!!!! I’m glad things have settled down for you and you’re back in the saddle today. :)

Belinda – I say take all your Cathe DVDs!

Heidi – I’d love to have a dog that could run with me. My dog is small (maybe 20 lbs.) and getting older. I take him out for an hour walk sometimes on the weekends and it really poops him out too, lol!

Back from disecting the brain...I was dreading it but it was acutally fun and intersteing..next is the eye!

Melissa, Im glad Im not the only one!! If I had to guess I would say Bret had some "work" done on those hair follicles.
Maybe that's why he started wearing that darn bandana in the first place. I was shocked to watch it today and see him without it. I finally recorded it last night and watched it at lunch. Haley had deleted my one from Sunday night.
Who do you think he'll choose?

Kathy, yes I will post my chicken recipes. Its acutally from an old Richard Simmons cookbook. The recipe is called Mr. Peanut Chicken On A Stick! I"ll get back to you in a bit on that.

So,ive decided to take a rest day and to just double up on my workout tommorrow! I didn't get in a rest day last week so that is a good excuse}(

I did bake some more banana applesauce bread(this time made it right;-)AND i added a tsp of banana extract:p) and then i made some high fiber bean spread. Ive been trying to eat my way through all my frozen stuff before i freeze anything else!

Melissa,im not sure what the calender is for? :+ I just noticed it and thought it would be neat to post everybodies b-days in there but then i noticed that it was posting what i was wrighting and kinda freaked! So I agree with belinda,i don't think it works! I did email cath.com...maybe i just didn't do it right!

Hey Belinda,i figured you would be asleep by now,i always think that when its light out here,its dark where your at???? What workouts you got planned for tommorrow? For me its a 60min power walk,PH abbs,then GS/chest and triceps.


I will brb with the recipe on the beand dip spread,its tosca renos recipe!

High Fiber Bean Dip Spread

1 can red kidney beans, rinsed and well drained(just used dry ones and cooked them in the crockpot for about three hrs)
1 1/2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp chilie powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 small onion,minced fine
1 clove of garlic,minced fine
Pinch of sea salt and fresh black pepper to taste

1. Blend the beans and oil until the mixture resembles a paste. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. cover and refrigerate.

Ive been eating this like a bean burrito with reduced fat chedder cheese:9
 
Its 4pm here! Im doing B&G's on friday and im NOT looking forward to it. I don't have leaner legs? I may only do a 45min run interval on the TM,i like those....i do get pretty tired towards the end though!

Man i need to get a haircut,something different. Im so bored with my hairx(
 
Mr Peanut Chicken on a Stick
Peanut Sauce
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup rice vinegar
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
2 T lite soy sauce
1T sugar
4 cloves garlic
2 t corn start or arrowroot
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes

12 oz chicken tenders…I just cut up 3 large boneless chicken breasts.


Blend in a blender until smooth. Transfer to saucepan and cook until heated and thickened. Do not boil. Let cool and marinate the chicken in half of the sauce for about 2 hours.

After soaking bamboo skewers thread chicken onto them. Broil for 1-2 minutes on each side. Serving suggestion…serve with Kathy’s fried rice and drizzle with some of the left over sauce. Enjoy!
 
Amelia I did B&G yesterday..it was fun! I don't have leaner legs either and its on shcedule for next week. I tought I would do Leg and Glutes instead.
Anyone have a suggestions for what to do in place of LL?
