BFL for Fri Mar 21st 2008

Ohhhh, Heidi, I never even thought of fat free cream cheese. I'm going to the grocery store when DH gets home and I'm putting that on my list!

The applesauce oatmeal muffins sound :9 :9 :9 . Let me know how they turn out. I'm already looking forward to making another bread, I keep eyeing the bananas waiting for them to get over-ripe.
 
HI,

I need someone's input to my contemplating the canceling of the STS program. I guess I am getting a little nervous about the fact of having all these DVD's around and having some that I haven't used in awhile.

How do you manage all these DVD's? It is getting kind of frustrating for me to figure out which to do next! With this BFL program I have been basically using only 3 series for weight workouts. HELP! I AM DROWNING IN DVD'S!

Melissa: I have two ripe bananas waiting...I could share. ;-)

Any suggestions for the above would be helpful. Thanks in advance. :)Oh...how many of you are moving on to STS?

Heidi, I know what you mean! I have lots of DVD's too and to use STS I will have to get heavier weights, according to Cathe's direction. I pre-ordered and will use them but I will not be getting heavier weights. I injured my back today going heavier than I should have doing BFL LB. The chiropractor was closed today x( so I will suffer through the L -- O -- N -- G weekend. No biggie though. I know my limitations and need to listen to my body! I feel I will progress with STS even though I wont be changing out the weights like I should. I am just looking forward to different workouts. I was following Cathe's rotations monthly until I started BFL but when my 12 weeks are through I can look at doing the rotations again. Just my opinion! What do the rest of you AWESOME gals think?

Stopping by even though I know most of you are probably out.

Slept in today – decided that my body has been telling me to chill out a bit, so a few days off helps. I’m much better rested and should be able to get back in the swing of things.

The snow just started at rush hour as we’re supposed to get 5-8 inches overnight. I joked that we’ll all get wool socks in our Easter baskets. Due to the snow and cold weather, my DD has conceded that a new Easter dress probably doesn’t make a lot of sense this year. We’ll shop for summer dresses when it gets warmer.


Belinda – You are so great about doing that abs regularly! Thanks for your encouragement!

Kathy – I’m jealous of your distance. I’ll need some time to build back up in miles. As for STS, my body has been responding so much better to heavier weights that I’m thinking its well worth it if I look at it like I’m getting a personal trainer for 3 months at that price. Plus, I’m hoping it’s here by June 1 because it’s so much easier for me to focus on longer workouts when the kids aren’t in school.

Heidi – Enjoy your crazy weekend with the house full! Sounds like you had a great LBWO yesterday. I definitely need a good cardio to help loosen them up after a really heavy day.

Amelia – Powerwalks are only a few steps away from a slow jog. You’ll be running with the rest of the gals in no time! Read your OD post. I have problems with food, too, so you aren’t alone. I don’t know if I’d call it binging, but my cravings for sweets skyrockets when I’m stressed. We can support each other through it.

Gayle – Remember that you’re human, please! You’re a mom, and you work, and now you’re PTA pres! We’re here for you when you need the encouragement!

Stephanie – Yes, those sleeping in days work wonders sometimes. I agree to stick with STS and work at your own weight. I'm sure we'll see results!

Melissa – So cool that DD could go to work with you for the day.

Thanks to you both...Stephanie and Sherry I feel so much better now. :) I won't be going really heavy for a looong time so I guess STS will still work ok for me.

As for mixing in STS to fit BFL this is just what I have been doing all along with my other DVD's. I haven't done the weights exactly like it was recommended for BFL but I am still seeing great progress. :)

Stephanie: Ohhh...be careful! How and which exercise hurt your back? Take it easy for a day or two with some stretching.
From my workout on Thurs..PLB I have a sore spot from the barbell where it sits on the back of my neck. My barbell does have a pad but I guess it is not enough. Next time I will add a folded towel!

Sherry: Yuck! Snow again! Glad that you had a rest day. Your going to get a workout tomorrow it seems with that snow coming! }(

DH just came home from work and the Home Depot...More stuff for the 3rd floor. Tomorrow we are going to a specialty bath store to check out designs for tiling. We still need the vanity,sink and toilet. So I guess tomorrow I will get up early and try to get in my workout before heading out. Because I KNOW it won't get done later!

Heidi - you are not going to believe this, but I actually emailed customer service on Tuesday asking them to cancel my order for STS. I was having cold feet or something. I think it's just overwhelming me a little and then to make it worse, I read the "who hasn't ordered STS" thread on OD and that really got me thinking. Then Tuesday night I thought "WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?!". First thing Wednesday morning, I emailed them back and thankfully Nancy responded and hadn't had a chance to cancel my order due to how busy they've been with filming. I don't think I'll go much heavier than I already do. I seen great progress mixing BFL-style and Cathe's weight DVD's so we'll see what happens. Have fun picking out your tile tomorrow! Fun stuff!

Stephanie - I'm so sorry to hear that you hurt your back! Glad you liked the bread. Neither DH nor DD like it...shucks, I guess I'll have it all for myself.:p I just picked up some ff cream cheese at the grocery store to put on it tomorrow morning.

Sherry - Hi! More snow...x( The wool socks probably aren't such a bad idea!!
