BFFM'ers eating one "treat"

VickyWI

Cathlete
I am following BFFM and this week I ate some "treats" on some days. For example, 1/2 a cookie one day, three hersey kisses two days later but followed clean eating with exercise each day. My weight didn't budge at all and it felt like I was being really good other than these small calorie "treats". Each time it was only 75 - 125 calories. It's not like I ate a whole cookie or an entire candy bar. Can it be that I just can't eat anything along those lines? I am getting close to the TTOM but I still thought I did well this week. I guess I should be glad I didn't gain. Vicky

RE: BFFM'ers eating one

Hi Vicky, first of all, perhaps Sarah or other veteran BFFMers may have more insight...but a couple of things cross my mind.

First and foremost remember that T.V. states that a realistic expectation is 1-2 pounds per week BUT more importantly you want to focus on your body fat% not the pounds.

Secondly, no one can be 100% perfect 100% of the time...shoot for progress not perfection.

If you are approaching TTOM, my God, stay away from the scale!

Personally, I believe (and I think T.V. also) that it takes 21 days to change a habit and for your metabolism to recognize it's new direction.

So don't be discouraged, stay the course, slow and staedy wins the race.....and throw up an SOS if you need support!

X

RE: BFFM'ers eating one

I agree with X wholeheartedly, especially if TTOM is coming. I think the best idea is to get a weight once per week at the same time of day under the same circumstances. Over time you may notice a pattern throughout the month (i.e. weight loss before/during TTOM not much, weight loss in between much more, etc). As Cathe screamed at me in MIC today during airborn jumps, DON'T GIVE UP!

I agree with X and FFD too - espeically if it's that time of month!!! Not budging then for me is a darn good sign!
