Best way to remove spilled wax?

BAM

Cathlete
I'm heating up my jar of Surgi Wax and, um, I guess I over heated it because it was all liquid and spilled all over my hand, *OUCH*, and on top of the stove, down the side of the stove and onto the floor. I'm rubbing oil over the parts on top of the stove which is working o.k. but the floor, the handle and the sides are a bit more difficult. Any suggestions for making this an easier process?

TIA!

Maybe a razor blade or one of those scrapper things that have a razor blade in it. I forget the name.

I bet that hurt your hand!

Best of luck getting it all off.

Thanks My2girls. Yes it did hurt. I'm still trying to remove the wax from my thumb. Too bad I didn't have hair there to be removed.:7 Actually, the wax on floor seems to be lifting pretty easily. I just need to use something gentle for the stove so it doesn't scrape it but I may not have a choice. Thanks for responding!

Phew! Outside of some residual wax left on my skin, I pretty much was able to get the wax off the stove. Letting the oil set into it helped. Lesson learned! :+

Glad you weren't too hurt.

If there's still some wax to get off the floor, you might try rubbing it with an ice cube to get it as hard as possible (that's what's recommended for getting was off fabric, and though your floor isn't fabric;-) , the idea of getting the wax to solidify as much as possible before removal seems like a good one--otherwise it can be spread more and be harder to remove).

Thanks Kathryn! Man, did I put my hand under the cold water fast! I just noticed that it has spilled down parts of my fleece bathrobe. I will use the ice on it and hope that it lifts.
