Best compact cal/fat/carb protein counter book?

Anyone here have recommendations on a good, inclusive, compact calorie counter book that also has protein, carb and fat grams? Not only of most foods but also most grocery/ fast food brand would be helpful.

Thanks in advance for recommendations!

Is it a book? How big is it? I want a small one that fits in my purse... Edited to add, I just checked the site and I'm looking there for the dimensions...

Thank you!!

How big is your purse Connie?

I have Corinne Netzer's "The Complete Book of Food Counts" (1997) which has the macro nutrients you're looking for plus cholesterol, sodium & fiber. It's a standard paperback, 6.5" x 4", but nearly 2" thick. It does list a lot of brands & some fast food. A newer edition might have more fast food (but it would probably be even thicker).

Maybe you want to go electronic?

I guess this is the night for me to reply...

Just a while ago I wanted a good caloric book that would travel well and I found

"The Doctor's Pocket Calorie Fat and Carohydrate Counter 2004 Edition."

It is on Amazon and it is really inexpensive, I think it is only about $7.00 and it could quite possibly fit in your pocket. I actually have a ruler and it measures 4x6.5. According to the cover it has 170 fast food chains and restaurant listings too.

Okay, done with the book plug. I hope you find my response helpful.

Have a fabulous Tuesday.

Hi Connie,

The book I mentioned above is about 1/2" thick, and the print inside is very small. It could be the same one that Katerchan mentioned, it has the CalorieKing website on the bottom of the cover.

Hope you find one that will work for you.

Jamie

Thanks all! Both books sound like they will fit. I am printing this thread to take to Borders (bookstore) with me.
