Beginning weight training again...

I read it somewhere because I sent it to my mom (can't find the link though)...how long does it take ones muscles to adapt to weight training and stop holding onto water weight? Does that make any sense? I thought I read a couple of weeks but can't remember for sure.

I think it varies and depends on what you're doing. But if I've been off for a while because of illness or whatever (a busy life!) for me it's about 2-3 weeks.
