Been a coordinator and gone back to just teaching only?

I'm strongly considering resigning from the coordinator part of my job and just teaching classes only. This will be at the same gym I'm at now. I don't feel like management gives me any support. No one from the management staff or training staff ever attends classes, so when a new member comes in, they can't talk intelligently about our classes. In addition, each new member gets a free hour with a trainer when they join. This trainer gives them what the member perceives as their "exercise prescription" which NEVER includes a class. Classes are usually just mentioned as, "Oh, we have classes, too, if you'd like to take one." I'm so far along that I've got my resignation letter written. Help me out here. Will I be sad or relieved???

Kim,
I know your pain. Have you tried to discuss this with your supervisor? Do you have weekly meetings and/or brainstorming sessions? If you feel that the situation in undeniably hopeless, then I think you've already made your decision. If you're not getting the support you need because they don't give a hoot, then yes, I say you'll be relieved to be out of the loop. But, if they just aren't informed of your concerns, maybe you should at least try to give them heads up on the problem?
I hope your decision makes you feel better, not bitter. I know how it feels to have no support in a job where you can SEE how to make things work better and the company/corporation work better and no one listens. I quit and I have never been happier. I did have some seperation anxiety for a few months, though. I will be thinking about you and keeping you in my prayers...
