Bed-skirt ideas

Hi all,

I have a bunch of bed-skirts from my comforter sets. I can't use them on my bed because we have a Tempurpedic and it weighs like 900lbs. The fabric is nice and I don't want to waste it but don't have a clue what to do with them. Let me preface this by saying that I don't sew, don't own a sewing machine- heck I'm not even sure where some needles and thread are!! Oh yeah and am not crafty by any stretch of the imagination.

Any ideas are welcome!

Hello, Pam,

If you really like the bedskirts and want to use them, you can make them into bed-aprons. Cut out the large center panel, leaving a 2" - 3" border. Attach small strips of velcro to the top of the remaining skirt fabric(wrong side) with either self-adhesive or double stick tape. Then attach more velcro strips to the top of the lower bed frame or platform. Be sure to line up the velcro strips on the frame with the skirt panels.

You can now interchange your bedskirts anytime without having to move the heavy mattress. No sewing required. Just a pair of scissors!

Good luck!

What a great idea, Catherene! I would like to use them and this is such a simple non-sewy idea!

Thanks!

I know you said you don't sew, BUT....I bought a comforter and bed skirt that were the exact same color/design. I like for my comforter and skirt to contrast, not be the SAME! Soooo, I had someone make a valance out of the skirt for the bedroom window and it turned out so nice. Just an idea for a skirt that is just taking up space somewhere! :) (I just bought a cream-colored bedskirt to contrast.)

Bedskirts on Tempurpedic Beds-Yes!

I just put a bedskirt on my adjustable base Tempurpedic Bed. All I had to do was unscrew the bar at end of bed and lay Bedskirt on screw holes. I used a skewer to punch holes where the screws go and then replaced the bar and screwed in the screws. I slid the matress back on and it wasn't all that hard. It looks much nicer-a more finished look:)
