Be it ever so humble treadmill by cathe

Hi everybody!
Ok, the recently posted treadmill workout has taken me off my High Step and knocked me off a riser or two. As a advanced exerciser and husband-proclaimed fanatic--- I am humbled by this new challenge!!! Obviously, my self-proclaimed "advanced" status is being too optimistic. I adore Cathe's tapes and saw endurance improvements with the CTX series, but kids I AM sucking air or is that gasping for air during the 7.5/8.0 10min./5min. intervals. And oh the 14 incline 10 min. "walk" makes my legs feel like lead balloons. By the way my treadmill only goes up to a 12 incline but my bones were throwing out the white flag!!! All I have to say is that I send my outmost adoration to Cathe and those of you who can do this workout in its entirety!! It is my new challenge. My heart and fat cells thank you sincerely Cathe. Now if only my respiratory and skeletal systems will cooperate.
Anyone else out there feeling the pain???????

RE: It gets better Faith!

Hi Faith,

I know what you mean about the treadmill workout. The first time I did it,I think I was sore for two days. :-tired I only did 3 minutes of the first 8 mph interval too. One thing I can say is after doing the 8.0 didn't the 6.0 seems so slow and easy? if you can call anything of Cathe's easy. The level 14 is something else too. I really have to work to keep my hands off the handle bars it seems so steep.

I have done it about 4 times now and it does get better. I have a couple of custom programs on my treadmill, and it is tempting to try the easier one but I know Cathe's will be worth it.

Any recommendations for buying a treadmill? Brands, prices, etc.? I think I want one!!!

Here's a link

to a reply I made to Jessica in January about the info I picked up while treadmill shopping. Rather than re-type it all ( Lazy person that I am :) ), here's the link:

We ended up with the Pacemaster ProSelect, which is what the Pro Pluss II was renamed to for this years lineup, and we love it!

Good luck!

RE: Pacemaster ProPlus

We have that one and it is a good one too. I do not like to use the programs they have in the treadmill so the custom feature was very beneficial. This model had four custom workout modes to use.It is about threeyears old and still going strong. Sometimes they might give a discount if you buy the demo or floor model. I did that and saved about $200. They usually do not have many miles on them.

Hi HB!

I don't have time to post it right now, but I will get back to you later on the treadmill we got quite a few years ago at Sear's at Belden Village. I THINK It is a ProForm. I'll give you the details on brand, price & all the options on it. TTY SOON! Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

RE: Hi HB!

I was wondering if anyone has done Cathe's version of the treadmill workout on a recumbent bike (she posted earlier saying to just adjustment the tension on the bike to similate the "run" portion) I'm going to incorporate the recumbent bike version into a future rotation and I was just curious if it is as killer on the bike as it is on the treadmill. Thanks for the input.

Stacy :)

I'm Back HB!

Duuuuh! I feel real stupid. Our stair stepper is a ProForm that we got from Sears. Our treadmill is a PowerTread by NordicTrack! Of course, I can't find the receipt right now.:-rollen I have the stepper receipt stapled right to the papers and thought I had the treadmill ones also. Shoot, anyways, the E-mail address for N.T. is [email protected] for questions or comments. I'm not even sure where there is a N.T. store right now. There used to be one in Belden Village Mall where we got ours but it is no longer there??? Their toll free # is 1-800-688-6737. Let me know what you decide. Are you getting excited about your new workout room? Keep in touch. Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)
