And I told her I would start a thread so that she can check it when she gets home to tell me she made it safely!
Ya' know how cool it is when you meet a fellow Catheite? Well, I've met Gayle before - on the '05 and '07 RTs. Then, ya' know how cool it is when you realize that you have an underlying connection with that Catheite? Well, I knew that from meeting her before and from these boards. But when you get to spend a few days with that Catheite and her family and you come away thinking she is without question one of the greatest human beings on the planet -- well -- that's just one of the greatest gifts you could ever imagine. THANKS GAYLE, JACOB, AND ZACH!!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
They got here on Thursday afternoon and we were sure to get in our workouts on Friday, Saturday, and this morning.
We were slated to walk the Cleveland half marathon yesterday morning, and the plan was to leave the house at about 5:30. We got up at 4:45 and listened to the pounding rain that had been going most of the night. So, knowing what misery those conditions would hold, we opted for return to sleep and a matinee of Prince Caspian with the kids. Probably a good choice although we were both VERY disappointed that we didn't do the walk.
I won't go into all the details of everything we did, but my favorite was on Friday night when we went to the Popcorn Shop in Chagrin Falls (google it - it's such a cute place) and Gayle's son Zach announced that this was the "second best day of his life." We asked what the first was and he told us it was when he got to go and have a tour of Progressive Field (where the Clev Indians play) -- which had occurred about 7 hours earlier that same day! It was awesome.
Miss Banslug - your boys are absolutely FABULOUS, you are da' bomb, and we are SOOO GLAD that we got to spend this time together! We miss you already. Hope your trip was safe and uneventful - and I can't wait to see you again in a few short weeks! Love you!!! (Now post and tell me you got there ok!)
