Back Hatin and Lovin in Cardiohatesville!

I'M BACK!!!!!

OMG, can I tell you how awful it is not to have internet access?

Although I must say that the usual dull ache I have running throughout the bone in my right arm completely disappeared.

My flights were uneventful and the no creams/liquids/gels thing was not much of a big deal. But I really had to push the steward to convince him it would be a ton easier on him if he would just give me a whole bottle of water. (And later he did.)

I have finally caught up on all your guys' activities (actually, I'm feelin' the ache in my right arm again, heh). Hurt feet, kitty collars, ellipticals, Lowmax, tons of cardio, printers, 2 hours of cardio (?!?!), Turbo Jam, Jack Schitt (pfff!), the kitty one (totally cute!), Cardio Coach, IWT, tons more cardio (?!?!), lots of pushups, new jobs, nutty PT beeach (that I first read with great interest as "natty peanut butter batch"), possible lawsuits (that SUCKS, Jana, I'm so sorry to hear that), DOMS and outrageous leg weight workouts, bench pressing 90 excuse ME?!, 5 Factor Fitness (never heard of it - want to hear more!), wailing children, Michele reading...WTF? No, I must have read that wrong, soggy rocks LOL, conditioning but in a hair kind of way...

Sorry, I guess you guys didn't need the Hate Cardio Cliff Notes.

And all the references to missing me made me feel sooooo good, you guys. I totally, totally missed you!!

So let me see! My trip home was really good, aside from the friggen dial-up LOL. The ton of DVD workouts I ordered were all delivered so I had a ton of new workouts to try out and what did I do? Christi's Happy Hour. I've become a dancing fool! I've become the elliptical Michele version, and the Turbo Jam Jana version of August Happy Hour. WHAT HAS BECOME OF US?! We're all reading books about eating and diligently working out and it's not even holiday season time LOL!!

And.......while in the States, I decided to chill back and just eat without weighing everything and doing my little scientific ratios and whatnot. I also decided since it had been such a long time to go back to the States, that I would just treat myself to what I wanted. I ended up eating pretty healthfully anyway - lots of chicken breast and nonfat cottage cheese, lots of veggies (no green beans LOL), lots of fresh berries, and lots of whole grains (no barley LOL)...and downed it with whatever dessert I deemed worthy, and man almighty are there worthy desserts a-plenty in the States! They were all totally incredible, but I must say that hands-down best was a goopy oatmeal cake I found with wedding cake icing. Flipped me out.

Upon arriving back in my Japan apartment and heading to the kitchen, I found what I at first thought was a shriveled up old leaf from my plant, but on further inspection, I realized it was actually the remains of a very shriveled up green bean. It was totally funny.

Anyway, it was really actually refreshing not measuring every single thing I ate (I know, hard to believe - sarcastic eye roll here), so I'm going to try that out for a little bit and see how it goes (until, that is, Michele finishes reading BFFM and kicks my butt into gear :p). I'm thinking I did the measuring enough now that I do kind of have a sense of portion size. And I'm going off sugar again. It was a happy feeding session, and I had my fill.

Wow, this is really long. Are you sure you missed me? LOL.

And now to exercise. I'm trying out a different plan for my rotation. I got both new Jari Love workouts, so this month I'm going to use them for my weights, three times a week. On the other days I'm going to do cardio - I've got lots of new step and hi-low workouts, after all! I can actually do something other than kickboxing now! Woo! The only problem is that I have so many new ones I'm completely overwhelmed and confused how to figure out which ones to use LMAO.

Hey, Michele, I know you've been glued to your new machine, but did you give Cardio Collectibles a try? I tried it this morning and LOVED the hi-low! Hail Christi! (sorry, Kate.)

Oh! And I got a heart rate monitor, so at least I can be anal about numbers with that, haha. Except that I can't figure it out yet.

Anyway, it's great to be back. Three cheers to the mighty fine residents of Cardiohatesville! :D

Oh, Michele, thank you for such a cute, nice welcome back! :* :* :*

Have fun with your DH, have a wonderful sleep, and chat with you later!

P.S. I like your new avator!

Hi, Janjan!

I love happy dance! Happy dance! Actually, those two icons combined is kind of what I look like doing my Christi Happy Hour LOL.

:* :* :*

Good morning all!!

Isn't it nice to have our August back!? We really missed you and your spunkiness. How long was your flight from Japan to the US? Oh! The question that begs to be answered--did you have a cinnamon roll while you were here? LOL! --I haven't tried Christy yet. I've been involved in a love afffair with Eli:+ . It sounds like you may have trouble choosing which w/o to do what with this huge stash of DVD's you've acquired. Please don't ask me to help you with a rotation or something--lol! I have a hard enough time trying to figure out what to do myself:eek: :7 .

Girls, I won't be around much today. If you all remember, DH and I are leaving either tomorrow night or Saturday morning and we won't be back until sometime Tuesday. We will NOT have access to the internet in the godforsaken hell hole where we are going:eek: ;( . I did buy a portable DVD player so I can at least do some cardio while I'm gone:eek:. Anyway, I have a lot of running around to do today but I'll try to pop in later. I'll be around off and on tomorrow, too. :* :*

Who is this person who keeps talking about doing cardio all the time? I know it is not Michele.....she has been replaced by an alien life form.

I am so glad August is back home! Now, if we could just locate Dana we would be 100% back in business.

Dana if you read this...WE MISS YOU!!! I think I am going to try and PM Dana to say hello!

How is everyone today? I have good news to reports, we actually made it 10 hours last night with sleep with DD in her bed! Yeah!! That means I got about 7, had a heck of a time falling asleep last night. PMS I swear.

Sorry did not finish my message and hit send, was not done.

Anyway, started a new PT place and this guy is actually pretty good and really is working hard with me to make me better! He understands my frustrations and promises he will make me better. He worked with a lot of sports people who suffered from my knee issues as well and has offered me a lot of hope that had been lost. I can already tell a difference. Yeah!

Moving right along, Diane, what is up with this weather? I feel like I am in another city! It is actually nice outside right now! No humidity!!! Yeah!!! Oh so nice!

August-so happy you are back! I have not tried Christi yet, due to the set backs my cardio has been so limited so I need some more time before I can do it. I am looking forward to it!

Michele sent you a PM.

Ok I have got to get to it today. 2 projects due for school.

I am looking for a low impact cardio workout with out step...any sugguestions??? I am open, but MUST be low impact

Hi Everyone -

WELCOME BACK AUGUST! We missed you! You add so much fun to the board. I bet you already know what portion sizes you need of everything so no need to weigh.

Michele - Oh no! No internet until Tuesday. That sounds horrible. Very proud of you taking cardio dvds with you though. I tried the whole process of making your hair curly today (with the products I already have) and "washing" my hair with conditioner. Hair is still drying so we will see how it looks.

Jana - I am so glad you finally got some sleep. Hopefully DD will cooperate when you are trying to go back to work. THat is great that you like your new PT. Did you get your money back from the other one?

I did a little bit of cardio this morning, a 25 min walk around the neighborhood. Jana is right, it is feeling nicer than usual. I didn't sweat as much as usual without all the humidity. Today was a rest day or optional cardio day on the 5 Factor plan, so I did extra cardio, can you believe it? Even though it was only walking... I am totally sore from my workout yesterday, even though was only 15 minutes!

Yikes. It's 5am...only I've been up for an hour. Well, it's better than when I got up yesterday ta 3:30am! x(

The flight from Japan to Oregon is about 10 hours or so. I think it's like 10 going there and 9 coming back or something. It's totally painless because you get those personal movie thingies at your seat with the remote control where you can choose between a BUNCH of movies and start/stop/rr/ff at your heart's desire. Usually the plane will reach the destination and I want it to go for the 30 more minutes I need to finish my last movie LOL! :D

But more than that, your next question, Michele, is really the important one. And I have a very good answer for you. The answer is Cinnabon. :* Need I say more?

Here's what more I can say - out of curiosity I weighed myself this morning. Now mind you, I ate whatever I wanted whenever I wanted during my stay in Land of Desserts A-Plenty a la Goop. Tanita tells me... I lost a little body fat and gained some muscle. WTF?! There ain't no way in all he!! that that could be possible, girls. I just dunno.

My rotation is planned out and all written up in my little journal along with my Sunday cleaning session LOL. Today is Jari Love's Ripped to the Core.

Yeah, I've been gone and yet I miss Dana. WHERE ARE YOU DANA?! COME BACK!

Have a fantastic trip, Michele (enjoy not having the internet LOL), and yeah to you, Jana, for the new PT and for finally getting some sleep!

Hmmm. Low impact. If I run into anything of my new stash, I'll tell you. Oh, I never said what I got.

I know, I know, especially what with my other Cathe and Christi orders, I spent like, my soul. But all I have to do is concentrate on the fact that I saved a ton of money not having to pay for the international shipping. }(

Hey, Diane! Thanks for your nice welcome back! And awesome for you on your new exercise plan of action. Sounds like it's really going well!

Yeah, where the heck is Kate, anyway?

All right, I might be taking a nap here soon...

OMG...did you order all of those???? Did you take out a loan for all of those??? Geeze..I thought I was bad.....dang woman!

I did not realize international shipping was so much, that stinks! Wow, so how are you going to get all of those in a plan?

Oh yeah, international shipping is THAT bad times three. I practically got half of those workouts free from the money I saved with the shipping. I figure I'd be ordering those wishlist ones over the next couple years, so just get them in one swoop and be done with it. I mean, heck, it'd been 8 years since I was in the States last, and who knows when I'll be there next, especially now knowing that the house uses dial-up! x(

How am I going to incorporate them into my plan? I have no friggen idea. :* There are two things I do know for sure and that is, one : that I'm going to MAKE myself LOVE step. I simply have no choice in the matter now with all the step workouts I got. :p And two : I ain't gonna be doin too much shoppin for a while. :-(

My rotation now is focusing on burning calories with endurance/cardio and looks like this - The two new Jari Love workouts 3 times a week (they are endurance weight training and are supposed to be quite aerobic), and then I will do one day of hi-lo, one day of step, and one day of kickboxing a week. Unless I break down and do all Christi :+ . I just got so overwhelmed looking at all the Cathe rotations that I just ended up going with something simple.

What kind of things have you been doing with your PT? No bicycle for a while? Are you doing mainly stretches for lower and doing other things for upper?

Rehab consists of exercises to work the quad and work on the knee cap. Its a lot of work and all the bike stuff is now limited. If your knees still hurt, don't push it with the step. If it were me I would limit the step to only 1 day per week with sore knees. Come to find out the next surgery step for my case would be complete knee cap replacement. Trust me, you don't want to end up like me, I cannot preach this enough!!!! It is so hard to recover from this type of knee surgery and my knee was in such bad condition, the damage is done forever. They can only correct so much...follow me......

I also was told to watch the kickboxing too (when I get better in about 3 mons I should be able to do some), but just a FYI watch your knees w/kickboxing. Can do damage there too.

Who would ever think exercise can be so bad for the body? Geeze, I mean come on, if you exercise you should be injury free just because you exercise. Too many people in this world don't and now you have people like me who did and do all the time and bam I break down! It sucks. So not fair...guess it goes along with the "life's not fair" saying.........

I think you should be one fit chicky with all your new DVD's! Hot momma! Watch out!! hehe!!

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely watch for any signs of weirdness. Oh gawd, what in the heck is a knee cap replaced with?!

Anyway, I'll bet the rehab is a lot of work. I'll be sending good bendy vibes.

I know what you mean - why is it that some people just have no injuries at all? But after searching around here when my knees were acting up, I realized that tons do have problems. Sucks.

Have a nice night!
