Baby Shower Help!

I am planning a baby shower for my sister, and I was just wondering if you guys had in input on some fun games!
Thanks in Advance!

I threw a baby shower a few years ago. Another friend was in charge of games, I was in charge of food and decorations. The only game I actually remember was one where everyone wrote the most ridiculous name for a baby they could think of on a piece of paper, then the mom drew one of the pieces of paper from a hat and the name she drew was put on a baby t-shirt with one of those t-shirt paint pen things. So the mom wound up taking home a baby t-shirt that said Gulliver Poopy Pants! :D It helps if you know the sex of the baby. Not much help, sorry. :)

Here is a link that will take you to lots of links for ideas!

Also, another fun idea is to have everyone bring one or two jars of baby food. Just a nice way for everyone to buy a lil' extra something for the baby that is a nice, cheap gift.

I remember going to a baby shower where you had to guess what baby food was in the jar. The labels were peeled off and they use a perm. marker and put numbers on the jars and passed them around. You have to write down your answer to what you think is in the jar and who has the most answers right won. I have also heard of a little different variation to this game where you got to taste what was in the jar. Yum Yum!!

Yes! Ok, you take a roll of toilet paper and have the guests count out the number of sheets they think will fit around the mommy to be's belly. Whom ever is the closest wins.
Take a non-see threw bag and fill it will baby things, IE: bottles, pacifiers, teething rings..what ever you or someone you know has around the house. Pass the bag around after you know what is inside and have written it all down, and have the guests guess what is inside by feeling the bag. They each get a certain amount of time, you decide how long. Who ever gets the most correct wins. Then there is the baby food testing game, a classic. You take 5 different kinds of baby food remove the labels, save them so you know what they are, then pass around the baby food to the guests and have everyone taste it and guess what it is. It's gross, especially the meats, but it's fun to watch everyone squirm when they try it! ONce again who ever gets the most corrct wins. ONe last one, take as many diapers as you have guests, put a candy bar in one and melt the candy bar to look like poo. Then have everyone pick a diaper, who ever gets the one with poo wins.

There you go, lots of ideas! Have fun!

Here's another one for you: place the parts of a baby in a hat (hands, feet, nose, eyes, mouth, ears, face, etc). Let each guest draw a part or two from the hat, depending on the number of guests. Have a large clean piece of paper set up for each guest to draw what baby's body part will look like. When the baby is completed you will have the funniest looking baby and the guests will have so much fun, at least they did at my shower.

Also, on guessing how much toilet paper will fit around the mother's belly game, you can also use yarn.

Instead of the toilet paper for the circumference around the mom's belly, you could use baby blue yarn. The mom could keep it as a memento. Who ever is the closest wins a gift.

I don't want to sound cynical but I can't stand complicated games that last forever. I usually do the yarn game, and also on one of the bottoms of a cake plate you can write the word "baby" in magic marker. When everybody is eating their cake, you say, "everybody look under their plate, who has the word baby?" That person wins a prize.

Another simple game is this: buy a bunch of baby plastic clothespins from a party store. Pass one to everybody when they arrive. You can't say the word "baby" If another guest catches someone saying it, they get your clothespin. Whoever has the most pins at the end of the shower wins. This game is nice, because it is ongoing and you don't have to stop socializing to play it.

Have fun,
Lori
