After 22 hours of labor (nope, not a typo), my son Derek was brought into the world via C-section on Tuesday evening, December 27th.
The reason for the C-section was because after those 22 hours, I was only 6 cm dilated and 60% effaced, the baby's heart rate was 30 bpm up from when fetal monitoring had begun, and I had also developed a 101 degree fever around the 16th hour.
I got home from the hospital this afternoon. Exercise will commence with the OB's OK, probably in about six weeks. I'm recovering rather quickly from the C-section, but I will need to be sitting on my rear end more. Quite a change, but I'll have no problem getting used to it for the time being.
