Baby Names.....

Hi all pregnant girls...

I am trying to decide on some baby names and was gonna get any suggestions.
We are pretty set on our boy name being Riley James, and i had Peyton picked out for a girl name but am having second thoughts.
I really like it but since its so much of a unisex name i am trying to find more of an all girl name.I still have about 12 weeks to go-and we are not finding out what we are having so i get to have 2 names ready!
Sooo -any suggestions??;-)

OOH! Good luck! We can NEVER agree on a boy name. Thankfully we have 2 girls but I have a feeling this one's a boy. I want the name Jackson if its a boy - DH is 100% opposed to that. For a girl we like Julianne Elizabeth or Julia Kate. Feel free to steal 'em!

Good luck!

PS - I love the name Peyton.

We couldn't agree on boy names, thankfully we have 2 girls, Alexis Rose and Ashley Elizabeth. I also like Emma Rose as a name.

I've always liked:
Elena
Emma
Anna
Quinn

Simple names, I guess.

We're having a boy, however, and we're trying to come together on a name. DH likes "strong" names, and threw out Jacob (we'd call him Jake). But I've read that Jacob with the #1 boy's name in the country for like, the 3 years.
So, any suggestions for boys?
We've thought of Grayden (Grady), Evan, Marcus too. But none of those really "feel" like DS's name...

Thanks for all the suggestion.
WE have a very large family and almost all the girl names suggested are used...

Kate-I like the name Jackson too-my cousin has a Jackson.

For boy name suggestions-what about Lucas,Curtis,Ryan,Ashton(my sons name),Micah,Chad,Parker.....

A few more girl names i was looking at the other day were-
Sadie
Sienna

Hi,

We have two weeks to go, and don't know the sex of the baby. We have decided for a girl, Jennifer Casey, and for a boy Matthew David.

DH is very traditional, and so it goes... Our other children's names are Amanda Marie, and Christopher Joseph

Good luck, it is exciting !

Hi Lorren. I saw your thread and even though it's been a while since I dealt with that issue, we still get compliments on my DDs' names. We wanted strong but not too far off the beaten path. So we have Kyra Elzabeth and Samara Eileen. For Samara - DH wanted a Sam and we had way too many friends who were using Samantha. While folding laundry one day for Kyra I saw the label said Samara. Looked it up, sure enough it is a Hebrew name that means protected by God. Now how could we go wrong? He got his Sam, I got my NOT Samantha. Just goes to show you can find names in the most unlikely places. Good luck to you.

I am very old school with names and our kids are named for family members and saints.

Girls names that I like: Frances, Martha, Mary, Alice, Agatha, Agnes, Katherine, Elizabeth, Helen, Helena, Elena, Elsa, Honora, Augusta, Virginia, Dorothy, Jane.

For our baby, we are thinking Magdalen, nn Lena (lenn-uh).

Thanks for the reply-
I actually used to make baby name lists of names i loved-and Kyra was one of them.I like that name-Samara is pretty too.

Oooooh Kristan--my full name is Magdalen. I go by Maggie for short. I've never met another one. I've met Mary Magdalens and Magdalenas, but never a Magdalen. Cool:7 .

Anyway, we pick really unusual names because our last name is extremely common and we're just kind of weird that way, so my suggestions won't be much help.

I just hate when you tell people the name you are planning and they say,"You're not going to name them that, are you?"

Maybe you and dad could sit down with a baby book and find all the names you BOTH like, a challenge I know, but it's worth a try.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Maggie:)

Ha, we couldn't agree on baby #3. Finally the nurses came in and said they would NOT discharge me OR "baby" until "baby" had a name! Almost four days later, he was named "Jadon". I think I like his name best of all three. THEN Brittany Spears goes and names her son the same thing & it's all popular. She's such a copy cat! ;)

Oh Maggie, this is EXACTLY why we're not telling anyone we know what we're planning or even thinking about for names!
Even our parents don't know!

The last thing I need to hear, in additional to everyone's commentary on being pregnant, is their opinions of the name/s that I MIGHT name my child.

Lately I've been dealing with the obxious people that feel free to open their mouths...if you can't tell! :)

Hi Maggie-
I agree on the -You are not going to name the baby that-comment!
that was one of the main reasons for starting to 2nd guess the name Peyton for a girl.I still really like that name-so we may end up just using that-and a name always grows on people....
I have liked reading all the suggestions ....:)

Hi there!

Peyton is beautiful. It can take her all the way through childhood
to becoming a professional adult. Love it. I had a tough time both
times!!!! I thought too much into it personally. I loved Jill & Jade
but they didn't match our last name & hubby didn't like. I was also
called Susan often instead of my name Suzanne. Susan is pretty, just
was not my name. I was adamant if I ever had little girls I would
keep it simple so I named my first a very universally accepted and
pretty well liked name, " Jennifer." Jennifer is 2 and thus far
the only problem I run into is people think its my name because
of the time period it was popular. She prefers " Jenny."
Then last August we had a second little girl. My family got
wind of the name I was going to use and all hell broke out.
Even my 70 year old Father called me to tell me not to name my
baby this name. So while in the middle of hard labor I said
lets name her Taylor. Unfortunately we hear people get confused
and call her Tyler or Tailor. I guess I am venting but do what
you and your partner like!!!!!!!!
Good Luck!!!!
:)

I LOVE the name Taylor! If we have a girl, that's the name we plan on using.

Thank you Lorren and Lisa Marie! I really haven't heard too many
tell me either way if they like Baby Taylor's name, but its nice
to hear two other Mom's to be love it, so thank you. Great Post
and Great Responses. It was also nice to hear another Mom will
name her daughter Jennifer.

Looking forward to read your posts once your children are born.

All the best for healthy and happy pregnancy's + Babies.
