Baby Names

With so many of us knowing what sex are new arrival will be, I thought maybe we could list our name choice(s). I'll go first. I think DH and I finally have a name we can agree on. A week before my ultrasound DH finally started picking out girls names, we already had a boy's name picked out. So far we are set on Brianna Grace. Grace is for DH's grandmother. (I actually wanted Abigail Grace, but DH didn't care for it.)

Sounds like we have the same taste in names. My husband and I decided that we would be naming our little girl Brianna Lin (short for Lindsay, my first name). (I also love the name Abigail..but DH doesn't care for it either.)
Lindzebird

Samuel and Madeleine are first choices (not sure yet about spelling). But one of my dearest friends had a baby yesterday and guess what, it's Sam! I yelped when I saw the name! We live in different parts of the country, but I still feel like I can't use the name now. Dang.

I say use Samuel if you really love it!! My youngest son is named Samuel and I love the name. Very versatile: Sam, Sammy, Sam I Am, Samuel, etc. Don't worry about your friend. Remember your baby will grow into an adult and probably hardly know that other Sam. :)

We are having another boy and most likely he will be Joshua Michael. My sons are Benjamin and Samuel and so Joshua goes well and is agreed upon by the whole family. Not an easy task! Heather

My baby boy's name was decided ages ago...Joseph Howard after my FIL and my dad (God rest his soul).

If he were to be a she, she would have been named Amanda Renee...no significance to that name...just think it's pretty.

We have not decided on a name yet. We know it is a boy. I like Gannon and my DH likes Heath. I already have a Gabe so I told him we needed another G name. LOL

our son will be named jayden ernest (ernest is dh's name). had it been a girl her name would have been amaya arie.

i have to say i love all the names everyone else has picked out!

Great names, everyone! I sincerely hope our u/s was right, and this one is a girl, because we are hopeless at picking a boy's name. We never picked one when I was pregnant the first time, and were fairing no better this time around.

We will name DD#2 Kathryn (Kate) Evelyn. Kathryn is DH's maternal grandmother, Kate was his great-aunt (a very interesting, lively person), and Evelyn is the first name of both of my grandmothers.

Cheers,
Sandra

Dana, that is what we did! Layne is our first boy and Logan our second. I love em! I do get them messed up, though. I honestly would do it anyways, because I sometimes call my husband Mariah, our daughter!

I like Gannon!

Ohh everyone has such nice names picked out!
And Melina was going to be our DDs name last time around, (Melina Elisabeth) but when she was born, somehow we changed it to Alyssa Madeline!
Anyway, I am pretty sure we will name this baby boy Cole Matthew (as you might remember from my name poll).

But just in case he doesn't look like a Cole, our backup names are
Nathan, Lance, and Lucas. I agree- boys names are SO hard to pick!

Love all these names! I've always adored the name Madeleine, but unfortunately it sort of rhymes with our last name.

We're waiting until we find out the sex to start arguing about names. Right now DH is making goofy suggestions like "How about Bubba?" and while watching CSI/Miami "Why don't we name the kid Horatio?" This will be much harder than naming the dogs!

If it's a boy -- Quinn Bennett (DH's initials are BEN and we didn't like Benjamin, too 80s)
If it's a girl -- Elise Karissa (DH's sisters are named Kari and Erissa, I thought it would be a nice way to keep the names in the family)

That is something MY DH would say! He suggests names like "Jonesy" and "Shaquille."

LOL! Notice how they never suggest girls' names? I'm glad I'm not the only one who is married to a goober!

My BIL's name, Derek, was suggested by my FIL, who was watching a Boston Bruins game. This was way back when Derek Sanderson was a player. I'm really hoping that getting kids' names from sports stars doesn't become a family tradition. I don't want a son named Tiger.

We are not finding out what the sex is so we are thinking of both. DH gets to name if it is a boy and I will name the girl. So far I like Claire Louise (after my Granny) and he likes John Michael. No reason that I know of for his boy name.

He and his sister and brother all had the same initials and he said he hated it. My in-laws said it was much easier to buy monogrammed stocking stuffers though :)

I am just worried that my Mom will be offended if I name my girl after my paternal granny and not her Mom. Both died in the last 6 months :(
