Baby Names

Have you all picked out names yet? I'm only 6 weeks but I've already got the baby name book out. LOL My DH and I had a hard time deciding on Gabe's name so I can only imagine what this will be like. Right now I have 2 names I like but of course that will probably change by next week:

Boy: Luke Michael
Girl: Darielle Anne (my last pregnancy if I had a girl I wanted to name her Darien so this is similiar).

Hi.

My DH and I picked out names very early on and it was sooo easy for us! I expected to have a lot of disagreements before we found names we both liked but to my pleasant surprise it took no time at all!:)

I decided after some hemming and hawing that I liked Amanda Renee' for a girl and DH was fine with that immediately!!! WOW! lol

I was having trouble with the boy's name so DH suggested Joseph after his dad. I liked that so it was agreed upon. The middle name is Howard, in memory of my dad, may he rest in peace. He was either going to be named after both grandfathers or neither in order to avoid arguments so it worked out well for us.

I am, as most of you may know, having a boy so Amanda Renee' will have to wait until next time maybe! :)

Have a great work out!

My husband and I picked out names really early too. We decided on Ronin Alexander for a boy and Rylee Marie for a girl. We're having a girl so it's Rylee. We decided to spell it that way instead of Riley to give it a more unique flare.

We have actually had names picked out since I was pregnant the first time with DS, who is now almost 3. DS's name is Alexander William (William after my dearly departed father).

We picked out these names as well for this baby:
If boy - either Nicholas Xavier or Xavier Charles (Charles after DH father), I'm partial to the first, but we will see what will stick.
If girl - Annamarie Grace (Annamarie is my great great grandmother's name and Grace is DH grandmother's name)

We haven't talked about names very much, but I'm sure we will come back to these when we do, probably after the ultrasound in about 3 months. I have my suspicions that this baby will be a girl.

kristi,

i am curious why do you think this one is a girl? mother's intuition?
i really like the name xavier.

our names are girl-amaya
boy- christian

It is just mother's intuition. This time around I have been having off and on nausea and nothing sounds or tastes very appealing to eat. I never had this with DS.

However for the record I was wrong about the sex of DS and thought he was a girl, but mostly because I wanted one so bad not because of intuition. I'll take whatever the Lord gives me and be very thankful. It truly does not matter one way or the other if this baby is a boy or girl. It will be loved by both families tremendously. I'm already anxious to know what this little one will be.

P.S. My oldest brother thinks this baby will be a girl too. For the past 11 pregnancies he has guessed each one right. I asked him why he thought a girl and he said he thinks about what would most enrich the couples life for the better. I think it is a good way to think about it.

kristi,

that is an excellent way to think about it. since we already have a ds my dh is hoping for a baby girl this time. i would love for that to happen for him. however i truly feel this time it wouldn't matter either way which gender i was blessed with. kinda weird because the first time i wanted a boy so badly. usually it's the first that people don't care which they get....LOL

No, we haven't started seriously started thinking about names yet. I'm waiting until the first trimester is over before I do that. I'm also hoping we find out the baby's gender early on, so we can cut the name-search task in half.

Cheers,
Sandra

Hi! We are having a boy, so his name will be Andrew "Andy" (Michael will be the middle name)
If we were having a girl, her name would have been Morgan (Elizabeth-her middle name)

I am not even pregnant yet but my husband and I have always talked about names. We loved Emma until Rachel on Friends named her baby that so the girl's name is still up in the air. I thought I would name my boy Jack after my Grandfather but it is way too popular now.

We will not find out what we are having so I think we will just have a list of possibilities and once we meet him or her, figure it out :)

I think picking the baby's name is sooo fun. It was one of my favorite parts of being pregnant.
Unfortunately I am done w/childbearing. I have 3 children...Gabrielle Nicole (my daughter who is 10) a 7 year old son; Chase Levi, and a 5 year old son; Pierce David.(david after my dh's departed father and it's my dh's middle name also. We really didn't have much trouble agreeing. Sometimes I would mention a name and DH would say no way...but we love the names we chose and wouldn't change a thing. I like names that are more unusual...but you have to be careful with that because people will mispronounce them and If you go with a really different spelling...people will always misspell. It is really annoying. I have that problem with my daughters' name..people want to call her Gabriel, which is the boy name. She goes by Gabi anyway....but people are always spelling it Gabby. Ugh!;-)
Enjoy your pregnancies ladies.....I envy ya!:7
***Please consider breastfeeding if you haven't, it's the most rewarding experience ever!

that's a hoot! That is where we hear gabriel the most. UGH! I'm always wondering what the other waiting patients think about me naming my daughter a "boy" name. :p Some people are just goofy!!
BTW I love the name Gabe. If I'd of had another daughter instead of another son...I was all set to name her Annalise. I am so totally bummed that now i'll never get to use it. I suppose people would've had trouble with it too. ;-) My daughter loves that name and says she'll use it if she has a little girl someday. :+

Hi ladies,

I'm not pregnant but I love seeing what other people name their kids. You all have chosen such great names! My two DD's have Slavic names. I wanted them to have a bit of my heritage (I'm Serbian) and my husband, who is not, was totally for it. My older daughter is named Danica Grace. She's named after my grandma (who was so ecstatic when we picked her name) and her name means "morning star". My younger daughter's name is Milla Rae. Her name means "beloved". And yes, they get mispronounced and misspelled, but I wouldn't change them for anything. They are special and unique, just like my girls!

Good luck to all of you!
