baby dropped???

This may seem silly to ask because this is not my first pregnancy, but with ds #1 I had to be induced, he didn't want to come on his own, so I didn't progress naturally with him dropping, contractions, water breaking, etc. In fact the doc said he was just "floating around" until they started pitocin and broke my water! Anyway here's what I am wondering about- I am 37 weeks; at my last doc appt the doc said ds #2 was still heads up and that he should be turning in the next couple of weeks in preparation for birth (this was about 3 weeks ago). So I expected to feel some kind of change but when I woke up two days ago not only did my belly feel different, it also looks different- what went from being stretched all the way from my pubic bone to under my ribs now looks like a little tight ball in the middle of my stomach! Along with this has come the need to potty (sorry! Mom to a 3 yr old! :D ) what seems like every 10 minutes, pressure, and some sharp twinges in my lower ab/pelvic region and lower back, and naseau (or not being hungry). From everything I have read this sounds like the baby has dropped, but according to what I have read this usually happens in first time moms 3-4 wks before delivery, but usually in consecutive pregnancies not until right before delivery. I have a doc appt on Monday, but as expectant moms you know 3 days in the 9th month can feel like FOREVER!!!!!!!!!:D So I would love to hear your opinions! Thanks and sorry this is so long!

HI Chichi!!
With my first I dropped completely in my 9th month. Not everything you read is accurate. My FIL is an OB/GYN and there are so many different books out there saying different things. Everyone's experience is their own and not what a book or someone else says. And that no 2 pregnancies are the same.
It sounds to me as though you dropped, you can definitly tell. I remember a big flat space between my boobs and lower belly. That wasn't there til I dropped. Lots of pressure down there, I was waddling and felt like the baby's head was coming out just walking to the mailbox:eek: LOL My 9th month wasn't very fun and not really looking forward to it this time around either. Just heavy and loooow. No nausea, but eating became very little, there was like no room in my squished tummy for food. Interesting isn't it??
Good luck and keep us posted, you are soooooooo close.

Thanks Curly- yes, I can DEFINITELY feel a difference!!! I used to be able to feel the babies head right under the top of my ribs and the rest of my tummy was firm but not that OUT there. Now its like a ball in the middle and the bottom and top are softer. When i walk....PRESSURE!!!!!!! Yes, getting close, can't wait! My 3 yr old has gotten soooo clingy! He is excited about having a brother. You aren't too far behind! Soon, soon, soon!!!!!!!
