In my opinion, I think it is a good idea to mix days of weighted work with nonweighted, and to break it down further, lighter weights and heavier. I don't think doing super heavy for abs all the time is a good idea as your abs need the break and the variety. That is what I do and I have a noticeable six pack these days. rowr!
Secondly, don't forget the clean eating. It doesn't matter what you do for abs if the eating is not up to snuff. I know you probably heard that one before, but it is very true!
