Well I don't know how many of you all like to stay at a Bed and Breakfast, but you know that you don't always get what you pay for. For instance, we stayed at the one in Williamsburg, VA. The Williamsburg Manor. Before I booked, I made sure there was A/C. There was A/C, but we were staying upstairs and I am not sure how many units there were, but our room was 85 degrees at 10pm. It took forever for our room to cool down. The floors were dirty. One too many hairs in the bathtub. The diningroom table was dirty. The owners, well I only seen one and she was very fake. She was too busy to take note of who her guest were.

My hubby and I love B&B. We've always had great experiences. Don't give up, b/c most of them are really awesome and cozy and inviting and CLEAN!!! We did have one experience we were not wild about...the B&B keepers were just weird!!! Good luck next time!

Charlotte that stinks!!! Sorry you had such a bad experience - did you complain? My DH and I went to a local B&B after we were married and it was very nice.

Now last year we went to a cabin in NY - talk about FALSE advertisement. Their website said fitness facility (they had one set of dumbells), hiking & biking trails (yeah about 10 feet of trails from your car to the cabin); sand beach (same, about 10 feet of sand); game room (a one car garage with a pool table and a pac-man game). I was so bummed b/c I thought I could workout while my DH fished - yeah right!

Welcome back Charlotte! Sorry your B&B experience stunk. My hubby and I LOVE B&B's, but we've stayed at enough of them to know what to look for. We are going to one next week in the Adirondacks while the inlaws stay with our son. We are very excited!

Sorry to hear that your B&B experience wasn't so hot. DH and I usually seek out B&B's on vacation because the experiences we've had have been so much better than those at hotels.

A few years ago my bf at the time took me to one. I was so creeped out. The owner was very creepy and everytime my bf wasn't around he made comments that made me WAY uncomfortable. I finally told my bf and he checked us right out of there and we went to a nice hotel. Seriously this guy scared me. Think Norman Bates with a sexual attitude!
