Survived the traffic! And only parked on the 5th level. Seriously, I want to hurt some SUV drivers. If you drive an SUV, you make everyone's life hell if you park in the NO SUV spot. Now, multiply that by 50 today!
so much to talk about today too!
Well, first the workout. I did 4ds KB with some of the blast off blasts from KickMax added on the end. It was definitely fun this morning. My HR wasn't as high as it can get in say an Imax but I definitely felt challenged. We've (Joe and I) have been doing more cardio before we start STS in Septmeber. He wants to shed some weight before his bday next week so he's going all hog on the cardio. I scold him for not varying up but I've been pretty pissed with his continued progress!! But at least I do my 1RMs every night. I did more today btw but now that I'm done the critical ones (and I'm not doing any of the ones that require a squat rack), I'm going though disc by disc to get them through. If I can get through all of the Meso 1 Discs maybe I can treat myself to a circuit week next week. I miss those so much! I brought the weighted vest in today for work so I can walk around campus for 30m-60m depending on how my evil experiments go. I had my water contaminted which affected one set of experiments but not the other. So, not a total loss but trying not to cringe. My boss and I got testy with each other in our last meeting...it wasn't terrible, he's just a horrid mentor (brilliant, but horrid) but there was sort of a point, if you're going to tell me I suck so much, I'll just leave and watch me (and under my breath: and I don't have to worry about a greencard or visa so you can't threaten me with that either -- it is super common for PIs to pull that on internationals). But its applying more pressure on me which I need when I feel really low (even if I'm super bitchy to anyone in my path in the meantime). Oh, and Chris -- I tried to do an evil laugh at the end of the new evil experiment and I just whimpered instead.
Joanne -- First, ::HUGS:: and second, I think we have the same TOM cycle! Yay! I mean, SUCK! I want you all to realize that I think about you guys regularly in my day. If it matters, Joe knows all of you by name though he likes to call Chris Boingo and Joanne Jojobean (or the legitimate Bears fan) because I update him on what's going on with all of you during the car ride home (because he's trapped there!). I agree with Beth that you may want to ask the school about assistance though when I went to Catholic school on the east coast, it was one of those barely could break even schools (and we went there because it was doing so much better than public!). Sometimes they have named scholarships or merit ones too. The exam entrance thing sounds like a good idea and he can start studying for that too...
It is heartbreaking for Jameson...but the only silver lining I can think of is that its teaching a life lesson about your own personal limitations and pushing them. When I was at Caltech, there were so many academic superstars that could always do everything that it hit them soooo hard when they were left dumbfounded (my husband was one of them). I never understood why they couldn't ask for help or just buckle down and study like normal people and I realized it was because none ever knew their own limitations on something they liked or cared about. It's a small silver lining I know but a valuable one down the road which Joe attests to all the time...
And I'm so sorry about the eye. I hope it turns out better. But at least you got Physique 57! You guys are so evil tempting me with new workouts. But don't worry, it got smashed a second ago because it turned out a $1000 bill that wasn't included in the escrow thing hadn't been paid so that's another 4 figures out of my bank account...seriously, tax time can't come soon enough (so I can get my freaking refund!)
Chris -- $1000! Wanna pay a termite bill for me? Or how about some slanted risers? JK!

TVs are getting cheaper. If you really want a TV, if you can wait for around black friday. Even if you don't want to wait in those lines on the day itself, the prices start getting really competitive. The roomba is awesome, it has made my life easier. At first I was hesitant because it was just another expense (Joe had been clamoring for a Roomba for YEARS and since it was such a good sale I relented), and even when we ran it a couple times, I was sort of like, ehhhh, really? was it worth it? But now I'm really really really happy we have it. I'm not sure what you're refering to -- if its Coremax or S&H but I love that Cathe says that! In fact, I think I love most of the things that come out of her mouth. Like, sweet with a dash of sarcasm? Joe thinks that all people from NJ must think and talk alike and that's why I took an instant liking to her (and KCM who is also from the area). But now you're making me want to log into beachbody...Joe likes to win corporate prizes at his workplace. one year he won me the iPod I have. He will seriously go to every party during the Xmas time so he can enter the drawings. Last year, i super encouraged him, even willing to wait double parked, because they took away his OT (his pay was contingent on him doing at least 10-20hrs of OT a week so since they dropped that, it was like taking a huge pay cut for us). So, since they were cutting that I was like, WIN EVERY PRIZE YOU CAN!! I've been wanting to do CPR training for years. Actually, there are a lot of different things I want to learn but it seems they are offered on campus only Fridays in the school year which means it will cut into my lab mtg so it doesn't really happen. I don't suppose you know if there is a kind of training you can get for diabetic emergencies? My mother is diabetic so I'd like to learn as much as I can...
Beth -- I have to send you back CLX -- I'll try to get it in the mail by the weekend. I'm just so focused on getting ready for STS that I haven't been doing it. You're making Phyique 57 sound sooo cool! And yes, Joeburgers were especially good yesterday. He ended up prepping WAAYYY too much meat so we have another two days left of meat though I'm not sure if we'll eat the same thing tomorrow. I may just bake it all in Joeburger pie though so we can freeze and store it. I like to do aerobic too before toning and weight workouts. I feel the blood flowing through my whole body really helps me get better range of motion. Speaking of which -- did you guys do any cardio warmups in addition to STS workouts? I did for CLX because I thought the warmup was for crap for lack of better words. Also, how hungry did you get during the day with STS?!?! Did it help by doing it later in the day? I was even thinking about only doing weight lifting when I came home after work so I won't think about food all the time!
Ok, I'm going to sit down to at least start part 1 of the evil experiment (which isn't really evil but boring). I'm sure i'll take a break in between if anyone wants to compete in the blabbing contest with me today.
