August 09 Check In ***Monday 3rd***

Good morning ladies...

I am still here...No, I didn't join the roadie crew with Paul and his band. Although I think VIc would have been happy to do that. We had the best time. The only annoying part was that the show said start at 7:30 and Paul didn't get out there until a little after 9:00. But, he played wonderfully and for over 2 1/1 hours. Then, we sat in the parking lot for an hour waiting for traffic. We got home at 2:15 am. We were so tired yesterday. Had to be up by 8:00am to get the kids, then go to church. Vic and I played lazy yesterday and didn't do much after church...

However, I did hop on the elliptical to cover my workout. It was suppose to be a interval run. I knew I couldn't must enough energy for that. I think I got an ok workout on the elliptical..Went to bed early last night too...Feeling better today...Today's workout will be Power Hour..

Also, today I am starting the kids on the school lessons. I like to start our school year the beginning of August so that we finish early in the spring. I love spring and hate being in the house doing school lessons.

Anyway, after school lessons, Lauren has a playdate at a friends house. I will try to get back on here.

Talk to you later...

Happy Monday!!

Hey Kathy! ... good to hear you enjoyed the concert and that you didn't run away with Paul!!. I can't believe it ran so late. Was it outdoors? Did someone open for them?

I'm a few days behind you, I'm starting today with MIS!

Hey Beth...Are you doing the AUG 09 rotation this week ? It didn't sound like it since you said IM3 and GS were on your schedule...

Supposed to be a nice week here, !!! I'm just too pooped to think about packing for the beach on Wed. though. Plus I have running around to do today for the boys camp next week. I need energy!!

Hey Chris: Yes, it was outside. He played at Fed ex field where the redskins play. No, he didn't have an opening act really. There were a couple of DJs on stage playing music until he came out. That made the wait LONG...He did the same thing the last time we saw him. It was a great concert though. He is still awesome...Have a great workout with MIS. That one was tough for me on Saturday!!

Good Monday morning! Wow, Kathy -- you must have been so tired yesterday -- good for you for getting on the elliptical!! Glad to hear you had fun, but amazing that there was no opener and they made you wait so long! Musicians obviously run to a different clock!!

Chris, I know, I have totally confused you with my typing out loud about my workout plans. I think I've decided to make it an endurance week like she has on the schedule. I did IMAX 3 this morning, and were your ears burning?! 'Cause I was cursing you for reminding me to do Imax 3 again!!! :) That is tough. I did a little barre after I recovered. Tomorrow and Thursday I will do the total body endurance workouts she has on the rotation. Kathy, I'd love to have you remind me about power hour to see if I should do that or MIS. I'll do ME on Thursday. I was thinking I might do Jillian's BFBM in between.

A friend who I met on last year's road trip, ly10up, might join us here. She is a hoot and it'd be fun to have someone else join in, I think.

Hope you all have a great day -- I'm off to work after a while.

I feel a bit better now that I've got MIS under my belt! It was tough, some were tougher than others. Crazy eights get me EVERY time! I agree, Kathy, tough one!!

Beth: LOL @ you cursing me! that workout kicks ASS! I swore at myself a few times last week too!! Wasn't the worst interval the first though? I hate that one!...MIS is definitely longer than PH. PH is more ENDLESS on the reps I think. MIS gets in and out, but still gets IN to it. Hey... do you have the EXHALE: Core Fusion workouts? I saw something about the Thighs & Glutes workout in SHAPE mag , and they raved about it.

How fun to have a fellow RT'er come do Cathe with you!! Hope work is good to you today...

Beth: It was alot of fun..Paul didn't come on stage until it was completely dark outside. Towards the end of the concert he sang Band on the Run and they set off fabulous fireworks and flame type effects on stage. It was great!!..Power Hour is tough. But, I liked it better then MIS..I did both though..Enjoy your work..And the more the merrier. Look forward to meeting your friend!!

Ok, off to shower..

Yes, those straddle taps are bad! I'm sure it was one later that was worse for me, though, and that's when I thought of evil you! Now I can't remember which, but it may have involved plie jacks. Honestly, I can't remember.

Chris!!! Did you see the email from Cathe? It looks like they are going to add Boston! I may try to go to San Diego -- that's certainly easier to get to than Chicao, but if others are going to meet up in Chicago, I'll do that too. The thing I really wonder is where she is going to have them. Maybe they are just going to be in a hotel and you will go up to your room sweaty for a shower. Certainly there have to be showers close by!!

Kathy, I guess they had to time his entrance on stage so that it was just the right darkness for fireworks -- how fun that must have been!!!

Oh yeah, Chris, the Cathe friend is going to join us here in the checkin, hopefully! She is ly10up.

I think I will do power hour rather than MIS -- maybe it'll give me time to work in some barre work. Hottie, I don't know how you manage time for those double workouts!!

P.S. Chris, yes, one of the barre workouts I have is the new Exhale Core Fusion glutes & thighs or whatever it's called -- haven't done it yet. It's 50 minutes of intense leg work -- glad to hear it got a good review!

Hi ladies. OMG - what a crazy weekend. I did get in one workout Saturday - Mindy's Action Packed Hi/Lo and the Biceps and Triceps from 4DS. We took advantage of the Cash for Clunkers program Saturday and traded in our 1999 Suburban with 160,000 miles. It was all a bit rushed since the program was supposedly ending Saturday and we had to get home since we had Colin's birthday party that night. I was a bit bummed cause we really didn't get to shop around much. I wanted to look at Mazda's and Honda's, but we went to a Hyundai dealer close by and got a Sonata. It's nice, but I'm not gaga over it. But, it's new (yea!), dependable and we got a great deal. It was crazy - DH had to run home twice to get paperwork for the old car and we had to get home by 5:30. I wound up going home and DH stayed. We had to go back today to sign all the paperwork. Then Saturday night we had the party. It was crazy. I knew boys could be loud, but this was insane. I planned on having organized games for them, but that didn't quite work out. They all did their own thing. There was 11 boys - all very loud!! Only three stayed over. DH slept with them in the basement and they were up till 3AM. One other was going to stay, but he had me call him mom to pick him up around 10. He said he didn't feel well. We tried to do a campfire, but I guess one kid got burned and had a bad experience with a campfire once and started freaking out when we started the s'mores. So, that didn't last long - DH put the fire out. Oh well!

I'm going to follow the August rotation - today was MIS. Oh my! That was sure tough - especially the legs and chest. It did ease up a bit after that, but I was struggling!!

Wow, very cool! Cathe is coming to Chicago?? That would be awesome to meet up here! I'm curious about where it would be - just a one day thing?

Beth, I think I'm going to sub Imax3 for Imax2 on the rotation this week. After hearing you and Chris talk about it, I want to be tortured too! ;)

Kathy, sounds like an awesome concert!! Good for you for doing the elliptical after that night. I, personally, would be trying to sneak in as many naps as possible!

Chris, oh yea, the biceps were tough on MIS too. I was trying to use the same weights as Cathe, but had to drop down on those. I agree, PH is easier, but I remember it does have an endless lunge segment.

Have to run...boys have lots of friends over, running in and out of the house. Not sure what's going on!

Joanne

Joanne, omg, you did have a crazy weekend! Wow, you can never be in a hurry to buy a car it seems -- great that you got in on that deal. I think cars are very utilitarian anyway. Sounds like a bit of a crazy party, too -- I'm betting your glad that's behind you.

Yes, Cathe's doing a road trip to Chicago -- I don't know anything, but I'm speculating that it'll be a couple of days and similar to the road trips at her gym. I did read that the San Diego one will be at the SD Convention Center -- so, I guess you just wander amidst business-suit-clad people in your sweaty Cathe clothes! The San Diego trip is next July 10. Of course that's the weekend of the local run I like to do. Hmmmmmm.

You guys are almost making me want to do MIS........:)

Hey Girls!

I got some things accomplished today, with DH home, so I could do errands without kids in tow. I hate "dragging them around" with me. It's always "I want, I want, I need". .... It was a treat to be by myself!

Beth: I have to say , as crazy as IM3 is, the last few intervals always get me to continue. I LIKE jumping, like the one where you jump up wide, and then together and then off, and jack? love that one! ... I'm thinking now of getting that Exhale Core Fusion with my next Amazon GC. There's also a total body Core Fusion, do you think that's a good one? ... Give MIS a try! I bet you haven't done it in a long time!... Oh cool that your friend will come post with us! Does she live near you?

Joanne: Holy COW, girl, you have been busy!! I know that clunker incentive is tempting!... Good for you for taking advantage of it! .. Sorry the birthday party wasn't as you had hoped it would be. I know, boys are SOOOO loud. But I bet they had THE best time ever! they'll probably be talking about it for years to come! You're a nice mom to have let them do it!! .... YAY for MIS today! I know, it kicked my butt. Chest was tough, I agree. I had to go down in a weights on a few things after the first round. ... YES, you need to do IM3!!! Just do it!!! ... that would be so cool if we could do a Chicago thing. we'll have to see what they come up with for a schedule...

The boys are all outside playing wiffle ball with the neighborhood kids. It is NICE and peaceful here.... Ahhhhhhh!

Chris, that jumping/jacking one is probably my favorite blast!! Maybe I will give MIS a try tomorrow.... it's been forever since I did it. Forgot all about crazy 8s!

Yes, that total body core fusion -- whatever they call it -- is the one I have done. It definitely works you in a different way than Cathe. The thing I find annoying with it is that it is set up as 5 different 10 minute workouts -- not that you have a warmup each time, but there's just a pause between each one -- you know what I mean? On the plus side, if you think one of those segments is really good for your body, it's a nice short add on for Cathe or whatever!

Did you like the manicotti you made? I have beef marinating in soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, lemon grass and pepper right now. Our friend did this for us the other day and it was so incredibly good!!
