~*~*AUG 09 CHECK-IN~*~For Tues, 8/25~*~*~

Today is a Plyo Legs for me...As I said, I do know I'm not doing the first one. probably the second one.

hey, do you guys know how we find out how long the STS workouts are? Is it listed somewhere? I seemed to know last time how long they lasted, but maybe am just having a brain fart.

Other than my workout, I have no idea what we're doing today. The boys, as I've said, are "punished". They got in trouble with the "bad" kid across the street on Sunday. They were banned to staying IN the house yesterday with Greg. I was thinking, keeping them IN the yard would be ok. Because I'd like to go out in the pool a bit today. Is that still punished, ya think? Keeping them grounded to the yard, NO friends?

Okay, off to putter online and then do my workout!!

Good morning!! Chris, my recollection was not liking the first plyo as well, either. I'm not sure why -- that's the one I ended up doing yesterday and I did notice that the step was not used all that much for the plyo things -- there was a lot of on the ground hopping. The one thing I hate is those squat jumps with the 180 degree turn, and those are in plyo 1. I do remember there is one plyo where you have to mess with the risers and that is kind of a pain, but that was not the first one. Hope you enjoyed it!!

You are funny with the grounding question. I think the bottom line is that if you take priviliges away from them, they respond -- at least my kids to. So, I imagine they will still feel punished. :)

I hemmed and hawed about what workout to do this morning. I wanted something fun!, so.... I ended up with the cardio timesaver premix on LIC. It filled the "fun" bill for me, and I felt worked, too. My legs felt a bit rubbery. My shoulder is feeling better, I think -- it's amazing how much your arms are used in step. I was doing ok and at one point started feeling my shoulder again, so I took a lot of the arm work out. I think I must have looked really funny doing it -- let's just say I shouldn't be going for any Cathe casting calls. :D Anyway, I'm wondering if it was just wicked doms in my shoulder and not an injury -- sure hope so!!!

First day of school went well for my boys -- I can't even remember if I already reported on that. I think we'll be back in the groove in no time.

Hope everyone has a terrific day.....

Oh, p.s., Chris..... the length of each STS workout is printed right on the dvd itself. Hope that helps!

still super cranky! work not working, sleep not sleeping! Going right back under some covers to consider my workout. GL on your plyo Chris! LIC is a good idea Beth....

Good morning!

Chris, so all the boys are grounded? That's too bad it's the last week of no school, but they'll remember it right? There are a couple boys in Colin's class that he calls "evil". I used to think he was being to hard on them, but met them and saw them in action at a school event and Colin wasn't too far off! Actually I felt bad for them - their family situations were not good (siblings in prison, etc.), so it's not really their fault. Anyway, I think the pool outside would be OK - it's the no friends part that would kill my kids. Ooh, that was such a sad story about the young woman with cancer (from yesterday). I met a woman about my age (a friend of a friend) last year who as battling some type of rare cancer. She looked great, but I guess it was spreading and not responding to treatment. She had four kids about the ages of mine. She passed away a couple weeks ago. So incredibly sad.

Beth, good choice with LIC. Sometimes you just need "fun"! I don't like those plyo turning things either. I feel like I'm going to twist my back or something.

Hottie, hope you feel better and can get some good sleep. (())

Yes, I am enjoying my new toy!! I've loaded lots of stuff on it. I need to go get a cover today, though. It's going to get all scratched up sitting in my purse. Off to the Apple Store during lunch.

Caitlyn was fine after school. She came out all happy and telling me about everything. The kids had a half day and Jameson wanted to spend the rest of his garage sale $$, so I took them to the mall. Well, my oldest boy is definitly growing up! He bought some body wash at American Eagle, because he didn't want to smell "fruity and flowery" anymore. ;) Oh my.

Tonight is Colin's first football game. It's just a scrimmage, but I'm excited to see him play. He said he'll probably start at running back.

Oh, I'm babbling and almost forgot my workout!! I did Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit. I've done that one once before - it's the preview disc one. Tough stuff - but I felt good afterwards. Now I just need to stop stuffing my face to let it work!

Must do some work...have a great day all!

I survived!

I did DISC 29, from the second week of MESO 3, Plyo Legs. It had it's good moments, and then there was the moment at about the 30 minute mark I was POOPED and wanted to stop all together. But I didn't . It always amazes me how those slow jump moves , Plyo jacks, Slow Tuck Jumps, get your HR UP THERE to the SKY! Cool! Beth, this is the one you have to move the risers, but it's not bad , because it's during the 60 sec. break. The 180 turns are in this one too. :p

I also noticed wicked DOMS are kicking in in my tri's bi's and shoulders from yesterday! THERE they are!! STS always gets ya, don't it?

Beth:
Good fun choice today for cardio! Is that instead of PowerMax? Hope your shoulder is ok. Now you have me a little leary about STS CHest/Back tomorrow. I better be careful. probably won't lift as heavy on chest at first. Just in case. You crack me up about not being in the casting call for a video!! I know, huh? I look like an idiot sometimes too. And I'd be like that chick that makes mean faces at Cathe during some of those moves! .... I have tried to rub it in on how we were going to do fun things this week, that we're not doing now... Ice cream, Mini Golf, the park. I'm so pissed at them for being little poops!! ...Thanks for the heads up on the STS durations!

Hottie: Oh crud! It's got to be TOM getting you down? I'll kick his ass for you! Hope today is better at work. ((hugs))!!

Joanne: Just 2 of my boys are grounded. My oldest, Zach, is not. He's been going to his friends' houses, etc. Maybe I'll take HIM out for ice cream and mini golf or the go karts. Oh THAT will get Alex and Jake good!!!!..... The "bad" boy across the street also has "issues". His mom was a teen age mom and wasn't married. He was raised amongst teenagers, swearing, smoking, drinking. And he has ADHD. Not a good combination. I do sometimes feel sorry for him. But he is forever tempting my boys. I don't blame him entirely, my boys really need to know what's right from wrong. .... That is horribly sad about your friend dying. God, cancer is f'in awful. And so unfair. ...... Glad Caitlyn had a better day yesterday, did she do ok going off to school today? LOL at Colin and the American Eagle soap. Wait until he gets to the point where he doesn't WANT to shower. I swear, Zach would never shower if I didn't get on his case. He will wear/sleep/wear again the next day, the same set of clothes if I let him!. The Insanity Plyo Circuit sounds good. is it similiar to Plyo legs? Alternating weights and plyo moves?

*WAVE* to Vilma!!!! Hope school treats you well today!!!

Time to get something underway here, not sure what though! LOL!!

Chris, good for you for pressing on with Plyo Legs!! So, she snuck those 180 turns in there, huh? ;) Wow, that makes it even harder on Alex and Jake that Zach wasn't involved. Yes, taking Zach out for all the fun stuff will definitely get them! Oh, my boys hate to shower too! Colin will also try to wear/sleep/wear the same clothes over again. It's Jameson who bought the body wash - he's almost 13. I think he might be moving into the wanting to shower phase! Colin was too funny last night - he kept complaining all day that he was sweaty and could I put the air conditioner on. So, I finally did. Then he had football practice, came home a sweaty mess. I told him to take shower. He dropped to the floor (a classic Colin move), cried and said "but I didn't sweat all day!". Yea, OK! The Insanity Plyo Circuit doesn't have any weights - none of the Insanity workouts do. Well, except for bonus upper body workout. He does drills of about 45-60 seconds of things like football drills, jumping jacks, squat jumps, etc. and then a short rest. He goes through the same sequence of drills three times, each time getting more intense. In this one he also does some push-ups and then running on the floor thingies (arms still down) that kill me. And then some ski abs things that are really tough. So there's some body weight type strength stuff. Oh, the STS times are also on the back of the cases for each Meso cycle.

Oh, Caitlyn was OK going to school today (DH took her), but she was stressed about what to wear. ;)

BBL...

Joanne

Hey everyone...

I had a doctor checkup at the gyno this morning. So, I was up and out early. I had blood drawn to check my cholersterol. so, I made my appt. early with the fasting and all!! I got up early and did Powermax too. Wanted to get that taken care of. I usually don't feel like doing the workout when I get home from a busy day. I hit the grocery store on the way home and the bank too..

Ok, so now I am peeling and cutting and freezing carrots that Vic pulled from the garden. I love having them. But, I sure hate the peeling and cutting part!! UGH!!

Gotta get back to it and Vic is working from home today and using MY computer. So, not sure if I will be able to have access to the computer later. I'll try!!

Well, I think Alex found the right thing to do since he's grounded to the house this week... get sick! He started with a headache last night, and a low grade temp AND headache this morning. His temp then spiked to 101.8 this afternoon. I felt kind of bad, because I talked him into going in the pool around 1:30, and he was shivering! The poor kid's temp was probably going up ... ick!!

Joanne: That is funny about Colin! Boys, huh? Though I guess we should be thankful there not ALL high maintenence girls with the clothes. ALthough Zach is telling me he wants to go shopping at a certain store in the mall, he heard was "cool". LOL!. Actually, it's when Zach is home he doesn't care what he looks like/smells like/dresses like. BUt he is pretty good about showering every day before school last year (he's turning 14 next week!!).

The end of August always throws me. NEXT week, Zach turns 14 (on the 1st), Alex turns 10 (on the 2nd) and Jake gives us a little leeway with turning 8 on the 14th!

We ended up getting Zach the laptop computer ... it's a combination birthday and reward for the good report card last year (remember?). We usually spend a bunch on them anyways, so it's the only thing he's getting from us.

Kathy: Oh , one of THOSE appointments. Yuck. I bet you're glad it's over! Good for you for getting your workout done early!!. It is tough to do it for me if I wait until afternoon too> And just forget about it if it's after 3p. I can't!.... How cool you have fresh carrots! ... Hey, how did you like Powermax? I forget what it is about and I'm debating on it, but I may just go for a run, because Greg is home on Thursday...and if it's nice out, I gotta!!
