Cathlete
Hi, I've followed poor Veronica's threads during her heel pain problems, as well as other prior sufferers, and I'm wondering if any of you have ever experienced this:
Everyone talks of heel pain, but is your pain only in your heel?
I pray I'm not losing my mind but I swear my pain moves!
It started originally in my heel, but during this healing process, I swear I can feel pain sometimes on the side of my foot, or on the top of my foot (like right in the center of the top of my foot)!
Never do all areas hurt at the same time or anything, just one area at a time, but when it was just my heal, I thought PF, but when my foot incorporated these other areas, I thought, " okay, my foot's trying to do it's own special little thing~and I'm not having that!"
Has anyone else experienced "moving" pain or discomfort? Or does your PF remain only in your heel?
Thanks for listening, Donna

you are not nuts.

there is something called "referential pain"
the nerves send the pain alsorts of places and sometimes you cant even tell where the point of origin is.
(i have alot of experience with pain and its little amusements)

Also:
everything is connected and when one body part is stressed all other parts are accomodating to that stress which means they are getting a bit out of balance and might get annoyed too.
Also:
Consider.... when you have had an injury for awhile and the body has accomodated, then things get bit out of balance trying to compensate..... They do not always pop right back where they belong when the original injury is healed......

I have shoulder problems.... which tightens the torso, yanks on my spine and front ribs out of alignment, which then makes my hips out of balance...which makes my knees hurt.....!!

my doctor can manipulate my leg and tell me where my shoulder problem is!!

so
nope you arent nuts.....

I would suggest you see a doctor. My experience with foot
pain is that it doesn't get better until you correct the
underlying cause. JMHO Good luck!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was beginning to think I was going nuts! I'll continue to nurse my foot, I really need to get better at icing it after a workout(when it comes to pain i tend to just 'suck it up!'),and wait for it to improve gradually. It's feeling better each week, but I think I'll stay away from step aerobics for a few more weeks just to be on the safe side! Besides, I'm really getting into the kickboxing thing, and it doesn't irritate my foot like step did. Must be an impact thing?!
Thanks again, Donna

Hi Donna!

I'm sorry to hear about your pain! I agree with Betsy...go to the doctor.

My pain is always just in my heel or arch. It hasn't traveled. Today, I am totally pain free. I guess I'll pull out my 8 inch step and do two sessions of IMAX tonight. Haha. I'm no where near ready for that!

So...go to the doctor and let us know what he/she says!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Veronica
