Attention wine drinkers!

Hello Everyone!

I love wine. I confess that I drink one glass per day, at the end of a long work day, to relax. (also knowing that I got my Cathe workout in early in the AM!)

My best friend who bartends in CA told me that a "pinot noir" is the healthiest red wine out there. Hey, if I am going to have some wine, I might as well make sure that it is super healthy for me! :)

Does anyone else know anything about this information?

No clue about the Pinot Noir, I just heard that red wine is better than white wine from a health point of view.

I heard that wine in fact is healthy if we drink no more than one glass, but that seems to be a problem for a lot of people, they don't stick with the one glass rule, or, the size of their glass increases to 32 oz :) (I am not saying or implying that's what you do!!!!)

Enjoy your wine, have one for me too. I have to get up early tomorrow.

I agree with you - 1 glass a day is good and it is enough.

I am very disciplined in that way, trust me.

Also - I get up early to workout with Cathe! I have to get some beauty sleep!

Your friend is right; Pinot Noir is supposed to be the most "heart-healthy" red. Dr. Oz just spoke about this on Oprah. I only drink wine on the weekends and limit myself to the recommended: 1, 5 ounce glass of red wine per day.
 
Try Cabernet Franc, too. It's higher in resveratrol (the stuff that's good for your heart) and it's not as heavy as a cab. sauvignon.
 
Hey there - I love wine too, unfortunately! I prefer the white wines - Rieslings from upstate NY. I also like pinot noir and think it's probably a good healthy choice.

I figure drink what you like, and like the other girl said, just watch the size of the glass. I have two sizes of wine glasses and I have switched to the smaller one and have one of those 2-3 nights per week. (The larger ones are for the weekends:9 ). I find the small glass is just fine - helps you relax and have a little treat.
And, yes I get my Cathe workouts in starting at 6 a.m.

A previous post about wine was also talking about the calories that add up in alcohol. And yes, I work out tooooooooooo hard and tooooooooo early to throw it all away!
