Are these veggie burgers OK?

I really like the taste (and convenience!) of Gardenburger Veggie Burgers. The ingredients don't look so bad, but they are processed of course. The ingredients are:

Ingredients
Cooked Brown Rice, Broccoli, Corn, Carrots, Bell Peppers (Red, Green), Onions, Rolled Oats, Canola Oil, Water, Isolated Soy Protein, Water Chestnuts, Carrageenan, Salt, Soy Sauce (Water, Wheat, Soybeans, Salt), Dried Onion, Black Olives, Konjac Flour, Dried Garlic, Spice.

I try to eat unprocessed foods, but wondered what you guys think of these. If they get the thumbs down, does anyone have a good recipe for homemade garden burgers? (I don't have a food processor, so that may limit me.)

Thanks for your input. Have a great day!

I think they look fine for an occasional meal.
I personally try to avoid isolated and concentrated soy proteins (this one has it as an ingredient, but it's pretty far down the list).

I'd also watch the sodium content (salt and soy sauce both contain it, as well as the naturally occuring sodium in several of the ingredients).

I have NO IDEA what Konjac flour is.

I like Amy's veggie burgers: no soy, but rather grains and veggies as the base.

For home-made recipes, some older (circa 1970-80) vegetarian cookbooks usually had a recipe or two for lentil or soybean burgers. You can also check out www.vegsource.com or just do a web search for "veggie burger recipe" or "vegetarian burger recipe".

HTH!
