arctic zero ice cream

Hi Melissa, I haven't tried this myself, but here is a review from Hungry Girl.

Arctic Zero Chocolate Peanut Butter All Natural Frozen Dessert
PER SERVING (1/2 cup): 32 calories, 0g fat, 9mg sodium, 11g carbs, 0g fiber, 9g sugars, 4g protein -- POINTS® value 1*
Okay, we're gonna cut to the chase here. An ENTIRE PINT of this has 128 calories. Yes, THE ENTIRE PINT. 128 calories. That's what this stuff is all about, people. If you're the type of person who likes to sit in front of the TV with an entire carton of ice cream and go to town, this is for you. It's made mostly of whey protein and a special blend of natural sugars that has way (or should we say, whey) fewer calories and impact carbs than regular sugar. (Impact carbs are the ones your body actually processes.) It doesn't taste exactly like ice cream (more like a delicious frozen protein shake!), but we love it, especially for that crazy-low calorie count. It comes in a bunch of great flavors, but the Chocolate Peanut Butter is the best for straight-from-the-carton spooning. Try the Vanilla as a FANTASTIC base for smoothies and shakes. Mmmmmm! Find it in select stores (mostly in CA) or just order online.

thanks!! HG is actually where i heard about it. i looked on amazon to order it but apparently it's out of stock and there are no stores by me that carry it :(

Hmmm...I've never heard of this but the nutrition info/calories seem way off.

1 g carb or protein = 4 calories

11 g carbs = 44 cals (no fiber to subtract anything)
4 g protein = 16 cals
0 g fat = 0 cals
total = 60 cals for 1/2 cup (not 32)

There are 2 cups in a pint, so 60 x 4 = 240 cals in the pint, almost double what is stated in the review. Strange...

i noticed that too when i actually paid attention to the stats. it sounds way too good to be true. how can we find out? now im curious!

That price is ABSURD, and I'm pretty sure the reviews are fake, seems like someone from the company posted those.

arctic zero questions

Hello,

Just wanted to clarify a few things we are a company that will talk and answer everyone. And it seems a few are curious. The reviews on amazon are real along with the nutritionals. As for the taste of the product it is compared to a fudgecicle very smooth and creamy not overly sweet but enough to take care of the sweet tooth or chocolate craving. You can eat the whole pint its not crazy sweet. Most people say the feel satified after they eat a pint you get 16-20 grams of high quality whey protein. We use a all natural sweetener that is only able to absorb up to 25% making the calories and net carbs extremely low with out the side effects or aftertaste. feel free to check out there website at wheylow.com We have made Arctic Zero available on Amazon until we are able to bring it into stores near you which takes forever being a new concept! Retail price in stores is between $3.50-$4.00 a pint. We really do not like the fact that it cost so much but shipping, dry ice and conatiners will do that. Hope this helps if you got questions let them fly or email us at [email protected]

Ok, I will say I'm impressed they are using boards like these to take comments seriously and see it as a way to address them. And if it ever gets to stores, I will be trying it for sure.

Trying It...

I'm an Amazon Prime member (great, but it makes it way too easy to order and buy things...) and I just placed my order. Can't wait to try it... To me the price will be worth it - eating more clean, less sugar and more protein makes me feel so much better....

One product I've tried from another company PB2 is great - it's powdered pnut better - that's 85% less fat and calories than regular peanut butter. Heard about it via mizfitonline. Love it - great alternative and tastes great. If they can make powder pnut butter taste great, I'm thinking this Artic ice cream could be an option too.

Will report back - it arrives this week. Just in time for my PMS sweet tooth.

It's about time they started stating calories by the pint. It's the only number that has any relevance to me. ;)

Thanks for sharing. It looks worth a try!

OMG! I ordered it and just realized I'm paying almost $8 per pint on Amazon, even with free shipping! I'm not going to cancel my order, but I also won't be ordering it again, no matter how much I like it. I sure hope it comes to East coast stores soon! I won't mind paying $3-$4 per pint, but $8 is nuts.
