hi everyone - hope your weeks went well. mine was quite stressful with the dr visit, but all is well that ends well. i was so happy to see my little boy looking just fine! and my gd test was fine. one more hurdle down.

shopaholic - you will be lucky if you gain 25 lbs this pregnancy! you are doing really well it sounds like. i hate feeling hungry though - makes me nauseous:( . your workouts are fantastic as always. you seem to have a good knack for changing things up - no ruts. i think i do the same every week. i definately need new dvds:)

Curly, checked out your website. Cool business! Your little one is a real cutie. I have curly hair too but Alexis and I are the opposites of you ladies with dark drown hair. Alexis is now 2.6 and has become truly into exercise. Your little curlies will too.
Morris, like always, great workouts, how do you find the time and energy? I gained 23 pounds with my first pregnancy but started at 110. This time I already up 20.5 but started at 102( I am short) so I think I'll gain more than 25, probably about 28-29. My butt is definely bigger this time. I now look super preggo. Its funny I go to get dressed and pick out a real cute maternity outfit then I am shocked when my tummy bulges out. I try a different outfit in hopes of minimizing the tummy, yeah right! I almost at 32 weeks so I guess its ok to have that humpty dumpty look.
Marry, Linda, other moms to be , hope you are all doing well.

the weight gasin is such an individual thing. you never know where it will take you. i definately gained more my first 20 weeks. things have slowed a bit since. i'll just have to see how the next 12 weeks go!

as to finding the time for my workouts, i think the key for me is breaking them up. one in the am, then something else in the afternoon or evening depending on how lond my particular day at work is. but i feel so so so much better when i excercise. now i am justr waiting to see how long i will be able to do what i want beforfe my body tells me to stop.

on a funny note, i saw my 86 year old grandmother this weekend. her comment to me," i never felt beautiful when i was pregnant. i felt like a cow." she was so funny. i don't feel ugly per say, but i am really looking forward to having my baby outside my body. we'll see how mch i work out the:)

I think pregnancy weight gain is such an individual thing - I'm sure it helps that we're staying active. My worst fear when I got preggo was getting a huge belly, but now that I'm "showing" I actually think it's pretty cool - I haven't cried over my missing waist yet (and neither has DH). I was up to a 17 pound gain at my last appt, so I'll probably be around 25 lbs total when my "mini man" arrives.

I just had my glucose and iron/anemia test on Friday. I "passed" the glucose test but my iron was low - so now I'm on iron pills. I told DH he'd better start grilling steaks more often, too!

Once again, I wasn't good about recording my workouts so I'm doing this from memory:

Sun: Prenatal Yoga
Mon: 30 min. jog, Kathy Smith P:Y upper and lower body
Tues: Kathy Smith P:Y Power Pusch
Wed: Firm BSS1 Cardio, 30 minutes walking
Thurs: High Step Challenge
Fri: 30 min walk
Sat: Bootcamp (modified!!)

Hi Ladies,

Reading all of your workout schedules has made me really step up my workouts a notch! I am 27 yrs. old and 5 months with my first baby. I quit running when I found out I was pregnant(which I regret now) but, I am still a fit finatic but, I am just so nervous all the time of hurting the baby. Ignorant people at the gym are always coming up to me telling exercise is not safe and that I need to only walk on the tredmill. I know they mean well, but, it makes me wonder if my workouts are indeed safe.
I am so excited to find out the sex of the baby on Thursday! I'm really hoping for a little girl but, a little boy would be wonderful too!
I have been really active during my pregnancy and I think that's why I have been feeling so great! I have gained about 10-12 pounds so far. I am getting a little depressed with the weight gain in my butt!! Does anyone have any ideas for sculpting that area? Also, I've noticed that a few of you do the Legs & glutes video.....do you use weights while using the high step?

Mon-30 mins. fast paced walking on an incline on tredmill & 45 mins. weight training.

Tues- 60 mins. Spinning class

Wed- 30 mins. EFX machinge & 45 mins. Buns of Steel video

Thurs- Cathe's Rhythmic Step

Fri- Off

Sat- 35 mins. EFX machine & 45 mins. weight training

Sun- The Firm total body sculpt

Have a great week ladies!!

Andrea

I know it is really hard but you have to trust your doc and real research not listening to people. I had person tell me the other day while i was having my lunch at work that i should bring more meals from home and not eat frozen food. Of course i defended myself with it was all organic healthy frozen food blah blah. Then i thought why should i care what other people think.

I am working really hard to take care of the little guy/gal and i think i am being pretty good (aside from occasional Ben and Jerry's episodes)

I do use weights for the high step and if i am having a low energy day i just use less weights or lower the step a little.

Dlondon, it is true every body knows what is best for us preggos and feel they can tell us. Sometimes even docs give wrong advice regarding eating and excercise.
Angie, glad we've rubbed off on you. I too notice my butt and thighs bigger but interestingly they still seem firm. I do use weights with lunges, squats and tall step work(with a max. of 20 pounds usually using 18 pounds ). I also still use my ankle weights for floorwork.

i think if my butt gets bigger it will need its own zip code! just kidding. it is bigger. the weird thing is i am getting used to it. i do still have muscle, and the legs and glutes dvd helped with the saddlebags that "appeared" at around 22 weeks. i still use my regular weights with workouts - it doesn't bother me. but the key is to do what feels right. i definately spend more time in my basement than at the gym in front of people.

HI everyone!!!
Lil late on this check in!
5 days a week, mixing up Lo Max and NOT getting bored of it. It's such a good workout no matter what. But the 6 inches is starting to feel like uh.........
OH boy!

Definitly look prego which is good, now the belly looks like it and you don't feel like you just look pooched fat anymore;-)

Broke out the snoozle maternity pillow! Thank god for that!!! Best invention ever.
Shopaholic, thanks!! It's fun and not demanding whatsoever:)

Everybody have a fabulous weekend!
