HI ladies..

Getting us started today on this April fools day. Who gets into April Fools Day? I used to. Now the kids get a kick out of it..

Workout today is Disc 23 Legs...

Be back later..

Hey Kathy, and all! Happy April Fool's Day. I like to pull some jokes.... in fact, as I was getting into the forums I was wondering what joke I could play on my checkin buddies! Thought I'd tell you all I decided to give up on working out. But I decided it wasn't very plausible. :) I'll bet your kids play jokes on you, don't they? We do have a nice one planned for our gardening friends -- we'll see if they fall for it.

My alarm went off and I was still so so so so so so tired! Stayed in bed for a while deciding I could do Chalene's Burn it Off (it's 26 minutes). Vilma, I have been feeling guilty for not sending you that dvd, but boy today was it what the dr. ordered. I needed something short, and the intensity was good. Felt much better by the time I was in the shower. But I just have to ask Kathy & Chris, maybe Chris especially because you mentioned this.... it seems like you're doing fairly intense cardio on your recovery between meso 2 & 3 -- but I remember you being pretty tired on your previous recovery. Are you less tired this time around? I hope that's my future -- I don't like this very much.

Joanne/Hottie, I hope you saw my late post yesterday -- I was happy to read the happy news from both of you! I forgot to mention that Travis did really well on his speech, as reported by him (I haven't heard from any adults yet). He was feeling good and proud, and I don't think I can ask for anything more than that! He was bummed that I didn't stay, because he said some other parents were there -- that's what I get for asking the teacher!

Today is my stay at home and clean day -- after I help with packets at school and today I have to do some bitmover work with Larry before the cleaning can begin. I'll be back when I need to procrastinate! ;) Have a great day!

-Beth

Hi all! Happy April Fool's Day to you, too! You're right Beth - we wouldn't believe you had given up on working out! ;) My kids didn't realize it was April Fool's Day yet this morning, so there were no "there's a spider on your shirt" jokes. I remember when they were really little, they would do the same prank over and over, thinking they were surprising you every time.

Kathy, have fun with 23! Legs, ouch!

Beth, I'm doing some intense cardio during this recovery week. Mostly because I can't stop eating badly and I'm trying to fight off the extra calories! Not working so good... :(. I think if you're feeling extra tired, you should do easier cardio. If you feel up to it, go ahead and do something more intense. I think the rest is mainly a rest from weights, some cardio is OK. Glad to hear Travis did well! I know what you mean about not being there. It's hard to know sometimes when they want you there and when it doesn't matter. Jameson is in a mathletes competition after school today and that's why I'm leaving work early to get there for the awards ceremony, even though it's an hour from my train and he could take a bus home. But if his school wins an award, I'm sure he'd want someone there. Then I'll drive him home and try to make his soccer game at 7:45 tonight!

Thanks for all the congrats on my kids! We took them out for dinner last night. Ian picked a burger place that he loves. He ordered the 1/2 pound burger and ate the whole thing and even finished before DH finished his. Then he asked if he could order another! :0 DH said he ate two hot dogs after school too. (I know, not the healthiest stuff!) I've always heard about kids (boys in particular) eating you out of house and home, but mine have never been big eaters. Ian has started to be. I have a feeling he's going to really sprout up over the summer. Oh, I was good and got the chicken breast. ;) Although that burger looked dang good!

I woke up at 4:30 this morning. Couldn't go back to sleep so I did Total Core Pilates with Jules Benson. It was good and had some good leg work, but I really have no patience for slow-moving workouts! It's pilates, so it should be slow and it did move right along, but I guess I need to sweat and move around to feel like I had a workout! I'm going to run on the treadmill during my lunch. I signed up to do a 5K on Memorial Day, so I better keep up the running.

Sorry I'm so chatty today! BBL, I'm sure!

Happy April Fool's Day!!!

We do play minor tricks on each other, my famous one is to replace the boys' food with look-alikes or turn their food different colors. They love that! My oldest son is so bad at "tricks", he'll say, "Oh, look quick! the cats are on the ceiling!" HUH??? LOL! Beth, you would have never fooled us with you giving up working out, you silly girl, you!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh My... Meso #2 , LAST LEG workout, is DONE!
2004.gif

I had one issue , my left groin area was hurting bad on the plate work , mostly the one-legged slide backs. I really had to modify that one. My legs are SORE and stiff NOW, but I got through it, and always at the end I'm thinking, it wasn't THAT bad! :p I do get a huge cardio factor going with the tri-sets though. My HRM said I burned 711 calories (though I always think it's over by 200). I did the stretch from PLB afterwards, but think I may need more later.

The other thing is, I never did do 1RM's for legs, I thought just pushing the weights and starting to run would help me lean out a bit. That was/is my plan.

Beth: i'm not on recovery week yet, that's NEXT week. I'm DEFINITELY feeling less fatigued and sore than I did at the end of Meso #1. I was so beat and sore all over on the last week of Meso 1. This week, I'm feeling like i could go on if I had to. Next week (rest week) going to try to run when i can and build up my endurance there a bit. Maybe some shorter step workouts in between and definitely stretching...

Kathy: Hope you had "fun" with 23 like I did!!!

I'm off to Target to get something I promised the boys. Might hit Kohls too, I so need some new jeans. And then the grocery store. I better move! BBL!

Chris, I think we were posting at the same time. Love the dancing guy! Glad that blue spot is strategically placed - that could be scary! ;) ;) I meant to tell you, your description of your day yesterday sounded so wonderful - my dream day!! Congrats on finishing off those leg workouts!

OK, I am getting up out of this chair now and going to do my treadmill run before I lose my motivation! We have a budget meeting this afternoon and I have a feeling it's not going to be pretty.

I laughed out loud at the dancing guy, if that's what we're calling him!!!

Of course you are not in recovery week yet! Duh! I think I had it in my mind that my recovery week would be synced up with yours if I had stuck with my original plan of recoverying during spring break. Oh well -- man, you are doing some fierce workouts!

Joanne, isn't is funny when kids think they can just order up another meal at a restaurant? I guess I have caved enough times they just think that's what happens. At the skating party last weekend, Travis ate 9 pieces of pizza! He told me afterward, and I was pretty embarassed to think my kid ate that much at a party, but... I did see them walking out with leftover pizza boxes, so there must have been plenty. Yes, I think these boys will eat us out of house and home in the teenage years!

Ok, work is super stressful.... I may have to open a bag of chocolate chips or something. AAAAaaaaaaah!

-Beth

Oh my gosh!!! I was on Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy show!!! They talked about Beth in California requesting an interview with Cathe and shock training!!! Awesome!!! It's their latest podcast.....

-Beth

Wow, Beth, that is so cool! I'll have to try to listen to it at home. What kind of work do you do? Do you work out of your house? Good to hear Travis is a big eater too! Maybe Ivy or Hottie can send you some chocolate chip cookies? ;)

Checking in with itread 13 - 30 minutes and itread 22 - 20 minutes done!! I feel great! I think I'm really building some endurance in my running, or the treadmill speeds are off! ;) Itread 22 was some really big hills which I walked most of and 13 was sprints. Good combination.

Have to get ready for this meeting...ugh!

Joanne

Joanne, I'll bet your building your endurance!

Travis is not normally a huge eater -- a lot of days he eats almost nothing until he gets home from school, and then it seems non-stop. So, the 9 slices of pizza was a surprise, but he has been known to want a second burger at home and restaurants, and -- get this -- a second order of shrimp!!

Larry and I started a software company about 10 years ago -- we do not work out of our house -- there's an office in town -- but this morning I just came home and Larry was still here, so we hashed through some things. Normally I am in at the office (except Wednesdays). I'm incredibly lucky, because for the most part my work life revolves around the rest of my life, whereas I know most people have to have their lives revolve around their job for the most part.

My house is looking fairly decent -- can't believe how quickly I got things done today. I should go put away my weights and clean up that room. I am also on tap to call the mother-in-law mid-Wednesdays.

-Beth

Hey Again!

You like my "dancing guy", huh?
SEVeyesC08_th.gif
I thought he was kind of fun for today!

I got to Target, and totally stayed away from the side of the store that has all the Easter Candy! OMG, I'm helpless when it comes to that stuff. Next week will be hard, because I will buy it for the boys' baskets, and when I stuff them , it's usually "1 for them, 3 for my mouth!"

Joanne: We did post together this morning! LOL! I bet you'll get the April Fool's jokes when you come home....!! Funny, my boys have always been big eaters. well, not so much big, but CONSTANT. They eat like every 2 hours! ("Is it snack time yet"??). Yes, Pilates is tough to do, I don't do it often either, or have the desire to do it often. And it's supposed to be sooo good for you too. Cool that you got in the run! I think tomorrow is supposed to be nice here, and I'm definitely heading out to the park again. Too bad we weren't closer, we could be running buds!!

Beth: OMG.. I'm going to have to check out Dr. Fitness! That is a riot! and too cool!!! I hope Cathe does it! .. Actually, I think Cathe cut back a little on the cardio this week. i really wanted to ask her if she figures in the length of cardios to go with STS or just the intensity. Sorry work is stressful! I just bought 3 bags of Chocolate Chips... you're welcome to come share (they are for my boys! They eat them in their oatmeal every morning... REALLY!!!)

Ivy: !!! Did you see cathe mention your cookie eating on Facebook?!! I almost spit out my tea! LOL!!!!

Quick postie as I get a chance to be online as DH is working on the pc and is taking a break.

Not much going on here except we had the VP Biden visit our little neck of the woods today and it was something else.

The streets within a certain area were closed off and driving in country roads will detours are no fun - oh well.

Tomorrow I start the 2nd part of CLX which is Push - I'm looking forward to it. I decided to check my measurement stats tomorow also as I'm just about done w/ TOM and don't what that to fuss with them.

We don't do the April fool's stuff never did like it; must be because growing up in NYC April 1st was a day that gave the idiots free play to egg people and hit folks with socks filled w/ rocks and most people would end up getting hurt. Granted never happened to me but that's how it was when I grew up

Beth no worries about BIO I'm just so appreciative that you gave me the chance to try Chalene out and thanks for that :) I'm hoping to see if I can get some TJ's for my birthday. She is so much fun and I like her, I would have never have known her if it wasn't for you .

Joanne Great job on those iTreads - I really need to start using them on my run days. I love the party/clubby type music.

Chris stay away from the Easter candy lol. Those innocent looking pastel candies are dangerous I tell ya.... DANGEROUS! :p

Well time for me to get off as dh is back to work on the 'puter (he's doing some job related stuff)

Have a great day everyone!!!

Chris, you should listen to that podcast -- they interview an author of a diabetes meal planner/cook book who actually has diabetes herself. Apparently that's a rare thing to come by. She said something -- at least I think it was her -- I listened to two different episodes of theirs today -- about sugar "eating" your muscle -- that is, if you are trying to gain muscle, sugar is really detrimental. I guess I should know by now that sugar is bad news (I do!), but this hit close to home.... made me wonder that if I can stay away from sugar, will I have more muscle definition? I want to try an experiment that way.... anyone want to join me? Think we can give up sugar for a month?

Beth: For the life of me I can NOT find that podcast...where is it????? I looked on iTunes and not sure where to find it. I looked at their website, and all they have is 3 minute fitness tips... I'm dying to listen!!

Chris, it's on itunes..... go to the itunes store and search for dr fitness & the fat guy, and it's the most recent one -- pretty sure. Sorry, I can't seem to get a link for you....
