I found a dvd called:
Powerbody: Advanced Russian Kettlebell Workout With Phil Ross

on deepdiscountdvd and I'm wondering if its any good before I purchase. Anyone try this one?

I still have to buy the kettlebells..ugh...more equipment...I feel like I have to try it though since everyone is raving. :)

Hi. If you have a Target near you, I would suggest going there. You can purchase bells there. They come with an instructional dvd you can try and you can also pick up one of the Iron Core Way dvds there if you wish. They are sold at my target for $15.00. If you don't like the bells you can return them. Just save your receipt.

BTW, I've never tried the DVD you mentioned.

Like Wendy said, Target is a great place to get a KB to try out!

I haven't heard of that DVD, but it sounds interesting . . . .

I have the DVD and it is really not a good one at all to start. If you are new at kettlebell, try Iron Core instead. Target sells that too. Good luck!

Hi macska7! Do you think that it's a good one to get if you've been doing KB's for a few months? From the clip on his blog, it also looks like most of the exercises use a pair of KB's . . . .

Yes, he is using 2 KBs. He likes unusual moves. For example the overhead around the body swing with a towel is really hard, I've seen it only on Steve Cotter's Encyclopedia as a real hard and very advanced core move.
In this move you swing the KB by a towel like a lasso over your head/body. It is fantastic for the core, but can be a very dangerous move.
He also does at least 5 min of renegade rows. There are regular swings of course, some real fast paced double cleans and double snatches if I remember correctly.
Depending on how strong you are, it is doable but it is not my favorite. The warm up is really good ( all different moves with a body bar) and the DVD is cheap, so overall it's OK. He doesn't talk/instruct during the exercises, it's only music. Hope this helps to decide.:)

Thanks so much for the info on it! I may go ahead and order it since it's so cheap on Deep Discount, but I don't have a pair of KB's . . . yet! ;)

Hippie Friend!

Wanted to tell ya thanks for the kettlebell recommendation! I picked up Steve Cotters Extreme Kettlebell Workout with the 4 disks and did the cardio ones yesterday, awesome. Also I picked up the instructional, really long one by Steve as well. And your advice about your knees really, really helped, I was able to do the swings so much better! You rock girlie!:)
