Anyone tried homeopathic hcg diet?

Has anyone had good results with this form of hcg? My husband has done this diet using hcg from his medical doctor. It was very expensive. He has more weight to lose than my 10 to 15. That is why I am trying this other. Keep reading online it really doesn't work. Some sites say the homeopathic will burn muscle not fat. I don't want to lose my great Cathe muscles. I had been been using some of DH hcg and I was losing a lb a day or more. Have fallen off wagon a few times and gained back some weight.
So back to my real question. Any good results with the cheaper diluted version of hcg?

Someone at work did it twice. She liked it because she loses weight fast.
I believe she lost 10 pounds in the first week and something like up to a pound a day and gradually less per day. I think she lost 40 pounds this way. She was proud of herself because she could eat junk and she didn't need to exercise. Yes she is thinner and she likes that and likes the way her clothes fit and how she looks. She said it changed her metabolism, so that's why the weight is staying off. She's kept her weight down for months!

To me, she look like bones with skin hanging off, yuck! This sounds very unhealthy and dangerous to lose weight this fast. She also had a medical doctor supervise her.

Christie,

I know these types of diets are tempting because the weight will come off fast, but it's just another hype diet. The weight will always come back on unless the reasons for the weight gain are addressed, challenged and changed. The more depriving a diet, the quicker the weight loss and the faster it comes back. Why not focus on being healthier and slowly incorportate more fruits, veggies, whole foods and fun activity/exercise? That really is what it takes for lasting change.

What is HCG? (That's the first thing I'd want to know before considering doing this.)

While I think homeopathy is useful (it's been used in Europe for a long time) and safe in general, a weight-loss product seems odd as a homeopathic product.

The way homeopathy works is that very small amounts of a substance that would cause an illlness or condition (actually, it's more complicated than that, but I'm simplifying) to stimulate the body to fight off the illness or condition on its own.

What is this product based on: jelly donuts and chocolate cake? :p

HCG

I tried it. It's 500 calories a day. Very, very low calorie diet and extremely restrictive. Of course you're gonna lose weight if you only eat 500 calories a day consisting of lean meat and some vegetables. It suggests you buy appetite suppressants (I forgot which kind, some organic something or other) to help get thru the deficiency. Apparently HCG is a hormone produced when we're pregnant. It supposedly burns fat throughout the day which is why we lose weight. I had a hard time. I couldn't do it and do Cathe workouts.

Actually, the person at work wasn't on the HCG diet. She had HCG injections...
She looks terrible now, IMO.

Kathryn, I googled HCG and here's a quick summary:
What is hCG?

Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone that is produced by the placenta of a pregnant woman.

Weight loss
A controversial usage of hCG is as an adjunct to the British endocrinologist A.T.W. Simeons' ultra-low-calorie weight-loss diet[11] (less than 500 calories).[12] Simeons, while studying pregnant women in India on a calorie-deficient diet, and “fat boys” with pituitary problems (Frölich's syndrome) treated with low-dose hCG, claimed that both lost fat rather than lean (muscle) tissue. He reasoned that hCG must be programming the hypothalamus to do this in the former cases in order to protect the developing fetus by promoting mobilization and consumption of abnormal, excessive adipose deposits. Simeons, practicing at Salvator Mundi International Hospital in Rome, Italy, recommended low-dose daily hCG injections (125 IU) in combination with a customized ultra-low-calorie (500 cal/day, high-protein, low-carbohydrate/fat) diet loss of adipose tissue without loss of lean tissue. After Simeons’ death, the diet started to spread to specialized centers and via popularization by individuals, such as the controversial author Kevin Trudeau, notorious for promotion of alternative therapies and treatments.

The controversy proceeds from warnings by the Journal of the American Medical Association[13] and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition[14] that hCG is neither safe,[13] nor effective as a weight-loss aid.[15]

Ok,if HCG burns fat then why the heck don't all pregnant women only gain baby weight!?!? Seriously!!! This seems like a total contradiction. And why would your body INCREASE fat burning at a time like this?? Not that any woman in her right mind would complain if she gained LESS fat/weight during pregnancy but it just doesn't make sense to me!
