Anyone own or can recommend a Leg Press Machine?

That one looks sort of scary b/c the bar for your feet is quite narrow. I like my feet to be firmly planted and really dig in through the heals. This one almost looks like the calves would do too much work. Personally, I would like into a used one like Parabody Serious Steel brand. You can find them on craigslist.com often, and sometimes on ebay. I have some of that brand equipment. The brand was bought by Life Fitness. It is considered light commercial and you could probably get a used one for about what this one costs, maybe even less. I really, really wanted one but just no room :(, plus, I would have had to buy more weight plates for the thing. It looks like this: http://www.uship.com/shipment/ParaBody-Serious-Steel-Leg-PressSquatHip-Sled/880736699/. If doing a search, I would leave out the Serious Steel part of the name - a lot of listings don't include that, and I think later on, the company dropped that part of the name anyway. Why don't you move next door to me and bring this thing with you :7

Thanks meowracer! I didn't even think to look on craigslist.com or ebay! I like the one you posted better than the one at Dick's. I didn't even think about how narrow the bar for your feet is, but I also didn't like that you are lying flat on your back. I'd much prefer an incline, like on the link you posted.

You've given me some great info. Thank you!!

C'mon Debbie....YOU KNOW YOU WANT ONE!!!}( :7

Hi Catherine - thanks for the tip on FitnessFreak. Maybe I'll send her a pm if she doesn't see this. The legs are getting there, slowly. DH told me the other day that I have a "bubble butt"!! I'm taking that as a compliment.. ;)

FitnessFreak :: Leg Press Machine?

Just bumping to see if Debbie (fitnessfreak366) sees this.

Debbie - do you have a Leg Press Machine? I've been looking at the one from Dick's. Do you have any recommendations? Catherine (fit_fairy) mentioned that you may have recently purchased one.

TIA

RE: FitnessFreak :: Leg Press Machine?

I just seen this post - Yes I have a leg press machine and I love it!! I got it at Dick's online. Its the vertical one where you lay on the floor (it has padding for you to lay on) and you push the weights up with your feet. It is DA BOMB!!!

Sorry I answered this so slow. Hope you see it.

RE: FitnessFreak :: Leg Press Machine?

The footplate isn't too narrow? I know that I am used to the traditional gym ones with the big feet plates, and that is probably part of the problem. It just seems like I would want to dig my heels in rather than the balls of my feet. Does that make sense? I would love to hear your thoughts since you have one. Thanks, Shana
