Anyone have the Sole F80 treadmill?

I have been researching treadmills and I have finally decided, I think, on the Sole F80 or the Horizon T1200 sold by Dicks. Does anyone have any experience with either of these treadmills? I am leaning more towards the Sole. It seems to have good reviews and a great warranty, but the Horizon did look good. On the Dicks website the reviews of the T1200 weren't so good. Don't know what to think.

It would be used by my husband and I for walking and light jogging. Hubby is 5'10" and about 200 lbs. They both seemed pretty sturdy in the store. The sales person said the Horizon was really quiet and that he had complaints that the motor on the Sole whined.

Anyone have any personal experience with either of these treadmills? Specifically how easy is it to fold? How easy is it to move after its folded i.e. move to a corner for storage, move to the middle of the room for use? Did you get an extended warranty? Did you buy it on the internet? How quiet is it?

I am ready to get this over with and buy the treadmill. The internet has a wealth of infomation but sometimes it can be too much. I need some real life opinions.

Thanks in advance!
Donna

I just received my Consumer Reports yesterday and scanned the article for the reviews of Treadmills and Ellipticals if you would like to see that before deciding.

I always research most of my major purchases with CR and have never been sorry. Send me you email addy if you would like to see the report.

Edited to say that the CR article is only 3 pgs and very consise.

I just got the sole f80 and I LOVE it! It is the best piece of equipment I own by far. It folds up easily although it is somewhat heavy and does require a little power to do it. The fold down is much easier and does it on its own. As for storing it I haven't really tried to move it around. I think you can but the machine is quite heavy. Mine is on carpet so it's not going to move as easily. Overall it is a very sturdy machine! It is a little louder than I had hoped but that's OK.

Thanks Anne,
I received my Consumer Reports recently, but didn't realize it was the a treadmill review issue. That should help as well.

Thanks for the heads up!

This is very timely, as I am also about ready to purchase a treadmill. I'm looking to spend less than $1000. If anyone is willing, I would really appreciate some insight into treadmills in that price range. I've been looking seriously at the Horizon T700, Horizon GS1035, Proform 765, and Sole F63 (if I NEED to spend $1000).

TIA!

I almost forgot - I ordered my F80 online from the sole website and got the shipping for $99. I went this route because I believe the warranties are better if you order direct from there as opposed to buying at the store. The motor and frame have a LIFETIME warranty and that's really what sold me. The new 2008 model that just came out has a 3.0 HP motor which is excellent for this price range (approx $1500). It was a little slow to ship but I chalk that up to the volume of Christmas orders. I ordered on 12/4 and had it by 12/22. I had originally paid for the turn key shipping where they deliver it then a tech comes out to assemble it for you. My DH and I were too anxious to wait for the tech so we assembled it ourselves (very easy) and I called sole and they refunded me the difference. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

A Manufacturer's Warranty is a manufacturer's warranty. It doesn't matter if you buy it directly from Sole or from an authorized dealer.

I have a Sole F63 and LOVE IT! Folds up and rolls very easily. Easy to use console. A friend of mine bought a Horizon about a year before I got my TM and she had problems with it. She had to have someone come out and service it a couple of times the first year she had it. I decided to go with Sole when I bought mine. I got it at Dick's.
