Anyone from Florida? - tourist tips

My sister in-law is visiting Florida for 5 days (Fort Lauterdale and surrounds) and I was wondering if anyone can suggest some interesting places to visit.

i used to live in the ft. lauderdale area. she can go into miami. there are lots of places to see. south beach is very interesting. las olas blvd in ft. lauderdale has nice shops and places to eat. i was just down there visiting and stayed in a motel. in the lobby, they have all the fliers for the attractions and places to see.

if you want, i can call my friend who still lives there and see what she says. (i left in 92 to go to tampa for a few years.)

If she goes to miami, be prepared to communicate in spanish. Just about everywhere you go, you will encounter a spanish speaking employee.
