Anybody have experience with Soloflex?

Someone my husband knows is selling a Soloflex. I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this one. It's all taken apart in his basement so I can't use it before I buy it. He's selling it for $200, seems like a good deal??? What do ya think?

I haven't tried one, but for what it's worth, I would be worried about the fixed plane of motion the bar puts you in. It might work for some moves (bench presses), but could be awkward for others (bicep curls).

Definitely try one out before you buy. Maybe a store near you sells it, so you can try it out? If you like the feel of the moves, then $200 would be a good price. If it only works well for chest presses, it would be a costly chest-press machine!

I do have a Soloflex Rockit (a squat/legpress type move machine) and it is very sturdy.

DH and I had this years ago when it first came out - like 1987?

We just couldn't get used to the resistence thing. We much preferred the heft of weights.

And, yes, the fixed planes of motion were very constricting.

I would advise against it.
