Anybody else an ER nurse who works nights?

Just curious... I work 12 hour shifts and it makes for a difficult schedule to fit in all the workouts I would like. Hoping someone else has a good idea...

Not an ER nurse, but will an Open Heart/Trauma ICU nurse work??? Oh, yeah, I also work 12 hr nights.

I typically get up about 1545 in the afternoon, workout for just a bit over an hour, then get ready for work. Leave for work at 1815, just in time to clock in at 1855. I work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, take Monday as a rest day then do long sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

HTH!!!

Hi! I'm a NICU nurse that works 12 hour nights 3 times a week. I try to work my nights all in a row if possible so I can have a "normal" life the rest of the week! I typically get up around 3:30 in the afternoon and workout for around an hour, eat, then shower and leave for work by 6:35pm. Working and exercising are pretty much all I do those days, but I know that I would feel much worse if I didn't squeeze in a workout. Actually, the need to workout was one of the reasons that I switched to straight nights. I found it much more difficult to schedule in workouts when I worked day shift! Let me know if you have more questions!

Thanks everyone for your replies. Usually when I'm on 3 straight 12's, all I can manage is to sleep/work. I admire your ability to get up and exercise before you go to work.
