Any thoughts or comments about Brett Hoebel's New 20 Minute Body Series?

Nora, I took part of this challenge awhile back. I really like his 20 min workouts. I don't have his BB set RevAbs or whatever it's called ?? Lot's of high intensity. He does have a modifier:) You don't need a ton of exercise equipment , only your bodyweight and a set of DB's . Great workouts. Although the price is fantastic on the set, I will pass on those. I already have more than enough workout dvd. How many do I really need? I may cave a year from now, who knows?

Hi,

I just heard about this on VF forum and was wondering what you all think. Here's the link http://20minutebody.com/. I look forward to your thoughts on this set, TIA!

From the clip, it looks a lot like Jillian Michaels Bodyshred, and I'm doing that program right now. Bodyweight and HIIT are trending this year, actually have been mainstreaming for a couple years I would say. His program also advocates afterburn, EPOC, which is something I don't really buy into. I know, Jillian's does too, so do many programs.

I use a low intensity, aerobic warm up prior to a BWT/HIIT workout, and an extended aerobic warm down after. In my opinion, it is a better way to work out, it's heart-healthy, and circulatory system healthy. I know there's a ton of "science" blah, blah, blah. I just don't buy it.

Yes, high intensity, bodyweight, and functional fitness is great, especially in a short amount of time, I just don't want to trade off warming up to work at that level and warming down from that level for the sake of "afterburn".

I learned this from running, and many of my running workouts were essentially an extended warm up followed by an extended warm down (for time). I think I mentioned before that younger people could get away with short high intensity workouts without warming up & warming down, whether they should or not, IDK. Probably not.

My advice, give yourself enough time for a proper workout, what ever that means to you.

Note: he's not hard on the eyes is he?

Looking into this a little more, just because it's interesting, I'll be watching the breakdowns. I already have workouts, and shorter ones like it so I don't think it would be something I would do. I can hardly believe the number of new systems just in the past year. Not to mention the workouts online.

The price is nice, and the structure is pretty interesting. I can't even begin to tell you how many things I looked at & didn't get. ha.

I'm pretty happy with Bodyshred, it's very hard, but I keep at it, only just finished week 3. It's challenging for sure, one big difference between it and a lot of other workouts, there are essentially no breaks, it's just one exercise after another after another and she emphasizes it often, the power in transition from one exercise to the next.

I know you didn't ask about it but since you are at that advanced level, thought you might like to know, unless of course you have it already.
