Any thoughts on TaeBo for kids?

We saw it advertised in the new Collage catalog and my girls are hot to trot (that is my 10 and 8 yr old - 12 & 16 yr old not enthused). Does anyone have any experience or have other suggestions. My girls are active in school and community sports, just want to do what Mom does

I have not seen the Tae Bo Junior tape but my second grade daughter's PE teacher had the kids do a Tae Bo Live Basic one day for gym. She loved it! She has some Tae Kwon Do experience, though, she was in it for about a year and had her yellow belt. I don't know how form-conscious she was while in TKD or if it helped her form doing Tae Bo. I assume that you are concerned about the safety issues? I think if your kids go through the instructional tape you could feel pretty confident. For one thing it is designed for kids, for another kids are a little more resilient than us oldies-but-goodies! BTW, my oldest is 8, and her 4 year old little sister is excited about Tae Bo and also wants to start Tae Kwon Do! I imagine that Billy's motivation and personality would be very appealing to kids.

Collage recommends Keep Kickin for Kids...

....as a better kid video. They said it has better instructions, and that the guy doesn't "talk down to the kids." I haven't seen the video, nor have I seen Taebo Jr. I just know that I love Taebo, so it'll be a tough choice when I order one for my grandaughter.

Billy doesn't talk down

That's one of the best parts of this tape, he doesn't talk down to the kids at all. In fact, I love this tape as a light cardio after a heavy strength workout. The stretches are some of his best, the kids in the tape are adorable and Billy is still his motivating self. My daughter (she's 10) really enjoys it as well. She gets a kick out of the kids in the tape who look to be her age (the tape has kids of all ages, from about 3-16 or so) I highly recommend it. It's the only tape made for kids that the parent will want to join in as well, IMHO.

I agree; Tae Bo Jr is a great tape

My daughter loves it, and the stretches at the beginning are great. Billy is very upbeat and positive, and does not talk down at all.

you guys sold me....

....on Taebo Jr. I get the impression that Collage is anti-Taebo anyway. I'm going to get it for my grandaughter....got to raise her to be a jock like her ol' granny. She's four years old.

And looks just like me! No fake red hair, though

Ditto to that and thanks to all...

This is what I love about this forum - FEEDBACK! I knew I could count on a response and I am not disappointed. Thanks to all of you for your input and I'll let you know how we like it.
