Any point in doing heavy weight training?

Hi,

I've yet to give my Hardcore Gym Style workouts a try, and was thinking of doing a one body-part a day rotation for a week. I would have to go lighter on the weights, and am wondering whether it's even worthwhile to do them while pregnant, if I'm not doing them at a level that really challenges the muscles?

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Does it make sense to do heavy, strength-gaining workouts while pregnant, or should I just stick with endurance workouts?

Thanks,
Sandra

I think it all depends on what your personal preference is. When I have been able to workout I've been trying to focus more on endurance. I'm doing this for 2 reasons: #1 to try to maintain the muscles I have, & #2 hopefully this will help me when it comes time for L&D. However I don't think you can go wrong with strengh workouts either.

I have GSL and did it and felt it was fine to do, even with less weights. Actually my legs were pretty tired from it, even w/the less weights. That's my experiance.

My guess would be that it would be fine to do but being limited on how much weight we preggos can use I gotta wonder if it would REALLY do anything to increase your strength or just end up kinda being an endurance work out anyway?? But I guess that's your question to begin so I'm a big fat help, huh? LOL

Ok I'll bite, yeah it makes it more endurance based - and it is by the nature of it (well GSL is), so that makes it easy to convert.
