Any ladies here have experienced having Lipo?

Now I am not overweight per se, just saddlebags and a slight tummy bulge and slight under the back of the bra flaps that never seem to go away. I feel like if I loose too much more weight I would be underweight (size 4 now). I am trying to add lean muscle, nothing seems to have taken care of those problems.

My questions are:
1)Did it hurt a lot?
2) is there a noticable scar or dimple on the skin?
3) where you able to keep the results with exercise?
4) would you say it is "worth it" or should I say would you do it again?
Thanks for any replies and I understand if you wish to remain "incognito".

I have never had this done but a friend of mine has a friend that works in the field. She had lip done on her hips/thighs being that was her problem area. about 6months/yr later the fat started deposting in her stomach which she never had before. I read about this happening before that the fat goes somewhere else. so I figured I didnt want to take a chance getting a fat neck or something crazy like from getting my thighs lipod.

Okay I confess I have had liposuction. I had the same issue with saddlebags that no AMOUNT of exercise would get rid of. My orthapedic (sp?) actually suggested it as I was killing my knees with endless lunges and running trying to make the saddlebags smaller and they never moved an inch.

1)Did it hurt a lot?

YES!! After the surgery I wondered why I did it at least for the week after. The pain went away through away but was surprising at the beginning.

2) is there a noticable scar or dimple on the skin?

You know I did notice a little bit of dimpling but I had cellulite on my skin at time of the surgery so I didn't expect smooth.

3) where you able to keep the results with exercise?

YES!! Even if I gain weight it does not go back that spot.

4) would you say it is "worth it" or should I say would you do it again?

It was worth it. It gave me the shape of body I wanted. I didn't go in to be a size 2 I went in to be a size 8 who didn't have to buy size 12 bottoms to accomodate her hips. I definitely would do it again.

If you do it remember it does take a A LONG TIME for the swelling to go down so don't be surprised if it literally is months before looks exactly like you envisioned. WAIT TO GET NEW PANTS>

I am 50 years old and I had two lipo surgeries. My first a year ago and a half ago in which I had my buttocks, hips, inner/outer thighs and knees done. I had the vaser technique which is a little less invasive. I was awake the whole time and really didn't have much pain. The first week after the surgery is the worst, of course. It wasn't so much the pain after the surgery(I only took Tylenol because I don't like pain meds) but it's that nasty girdle I had to wear for two weeks straight. I had a touch up last November on my knees because I wasn't quite satisfied. They healed in three weeks.

After my first surgery I started walking immediately for exercise as recommended. I began cardio and then implemented weights again after one month. After the second surgery, I was doing cardio after two weeks and weights after three. But, there is swelling that continues after a few months. Especially after exercise. But after about six months I didn't notice any.

I have no noticeable dimples and my cellulite is less noticeable. Yes, I would do it all over again.

www.liposite.com This is good reading if you're considering lipo. Lurk on the forum a bit and you can see how, like exercise, lipo results are different for everyone.

Thanks so much for your honest info. I am going to work out with Cathe for another 6 months to a year before I make a decision. Sounds like the recovery time and time away from exercise are more than I expected! But I am happy that no one has a noticable scar/dimple where they were "lipoed". I wear a size 5 junior or 4 womens so I am not heavy, but I really do have saddlebags that have become even more noticable in the past 2 years even though I exercise more.
I do want to be prepared if I do the surgery.
Thanks everyone!
