Any Guys Out There 9/19

I hope I am doing this right being new and such. I am just curious if there are any other men out there doing Cathe workouts. I do some of Cathe's weight work and kickboxing, P90X, boxing, wrestling, kayaking, and in the winter some hunting. Anyway, just curious.

Welcome aboard!

There are a few of us who check in here from time to time (although I suspect there are more lurking in the wings...). It's good to hear from you. What are some of your Cathe favorites? I just got her gym style workouts this summer, and really enjoy them. I also think her newest 4 day split workouts are fantastic.

I just saw you asked about Amy Bento in yesterday's check in. Here's my thoughts on Advanced Step Challenge 2:

Advanced Step Challenge 2 is the only Amy Bento workout I have, but I think I'll be getting more. This particular workout has very tricky moves. I think I'm a step enthusiast, and it's tough for me. It's put together kinda like Cathe's Rhythmic Step in that you learn parts at a time and then put it all together at the end.

Collage video lets you look at clips before you buy them.

Amy calls the moves "Athletic", but I'd say some of it is a bit dancy. There's sure a lot to remember.

The only thing I find frustrating is that she doesn't use 16 count phrasing like Cathe does. Some people might not notice this, but I found it tricky at first. Like, for example, if Cathe is going to change lead legs, she might do a 7 knee repeater followed by 2 3 knee repeaters. Amy will just do a 3 knee repeater and start the combo right away. I know that might just be my own quirky preference (I'm a music teacher), so there you go.

If you liked the format of Rhythmic Step (or Step Blast), and don't mind a lot of choreography, you'd like this video.

Hope this helps more than confuses...

Hi Snidey Spidey,
Welcome ! yes there are a few of us guys here.I have been working out with Cathe since 1999.I have attended two of the roadtrips which were great fun.I have most of Cathe's collection except some of the older VHS titles.I also workout to Tony Horton and Amy Bento.I love Slo Mo.It is a great strength program with some very inovative moves.I do all the step workouts but they really take me time to master but well worth it.I even find her hi low difficult & kickbox routines.I am presently doing In the Ring.Tonight I am going to a spinning class.I wish Cathe & Amy would make a spinning dvd. This is really the ultimate cardio rush.
Take care
Chris
