Any fans of Steve Perry from the band Journey here?

I have loved Journey for so many years and absolutely LOVE Steve Perry's voice! Journey is not Journey without him as the lead singer. He has not been much in the public scene and I really miss seeing him and hearing his beautiful voice. I decided to do a search today on him and have found out some fairly recent info. One of the search sites mentioned that he has gotten married but when I clicked on that site, it took me elsewhere. Does anybody know if he actually has married? There was no mention of a girlfriend in a year old interview which is the most recent info I could find on this topic. If anyone knows if he is married, could you please let me know or pass along a link if there is one? I just NEED to know this info, lol. I've been spending my afternoon trying to find this out and I've got other things I need to get done --- like workout to Cathe. :p TIA for any info!

Journey is definately NOT Journey without Steve Perry! I haven't heard anything about him since about a year ago when they interviewed him on VH1 and he talked about how hard it was to see his band go on the road without him. I play my Journey CDs all the time.

This past year, I've really been getting into them again. My 15 year old niece really loves them and we sing their songs together. There's just something about Steve that I'm really drawn to so I'm on a mission to find out as much about him as I can. Maybe I have a cosmic connection with him. ;-)

You're so right about Journey not being Journey without Steve Perry. He DOES have an incredible voice. I told DH that if there was ever a day that Journey reunited with Steve Perry, that we were going wherever we had to go to see them. Journey was really popular before I was old enough to go to any of their concerts, but I ALWAYS loved their music. I would love to hear what anyone finds out about him.

Oh I love Journey--as cheesy & pop as they are they totally remind me of high school. I can't hear that song "Standing Beside You" without thinking of the movie the Last American Virgin.

Thanks for the little bit of nostalgia Bam. :)

O.K. seriously I need to meet this guy but I gotta find out if he's married. Yes, I know, I have issues! }( :p

Hi Bam and fellow Steve Perry/Journey Fans!

I have been a fan of him/them since I was 10 years old and my mom for forever. She grew up near him in Fresno (she is from Bakersfield, CA). He was put on a pedastal here in Chicago last year when the White Sox were persuing the World Series (Don't Stop Believin' was the Sox rally song last year). Steve actually was invited and came to several of the playoff games. It was really great to see him. He's not such a public person. He is a little pudgy now (maybe he could do some Cathe...but he has had a hip replacement...I believe in the mid 90's or so), but still cute.
You know, I wish Cathe would use a Journey song in one of her DVD's. That would be so awesome!

I have all the Journey tapes/CD's and Steve Perry CD's. If I had to leave the house in an emergency, I wouldn't leave without these!

Anyway, I am just rambling here...I thought I was one of few who still held Steve Perry/Steve Perry's Journey in high esteem. Here is a link to his website http://steveperryonline.net/

I haven't checked the website in a while...they don't update it too often. HTH

Thanks Webbgirl. I've been on that site and soooooo many today trying to get recent info on him. I did read about his appearance at the Sox game and I just wish I was there. He is just an amazing talent and I would like to find out more about him but if you look at the link that I posted, he does answer some questions about himself back in November. I'm needing to find out some current info on him. I will continue onward in my search! :)

Hey BAM,

Years and years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr.Perry when he went solo at a record release party. From the few hours that I was there, he was as nice as could be. And to this day I still have the picture of me, him and one of my friends framed. I am glad that he was so nice, because I was/am a big Journey fan.

Lea, how COOL is that!!!! I'm so glad you had a great experience meeting him. I was reading where he said he was in a restaurant and saw a singer who he admired (can't think of her name right now) but didn't want to approach her just in case she wasn't nice. That would have spoiled the image he had of her so he didn't talk to her. From what I know from seeing him on VH1 Where Are They Now and reading his responses to questions, it sounds like he's got a lot of unresolved feelings that he's been carrying for a long time. Now, if I met him, I could help him work through them. :7 Hey, I can dream can't I????? :p

Hey, you gotta do what makes you feel good. I really do hope that things work out for you. Music makes things better for me at the moment that I am listening to it. It is really theraputic. Have a good night. DH and I are going to watch recorded Prison Breaks. Sweet dreams of SP!!!

I love Journey as well, especially the guitarist, Sean or was it Shawn. Can't remember. My children even like Journey!!! And sing the lyrics when they are on the radio. Annette

Oh yes, have been a journey (steve perry) fan for years, since about the age of 16 or so when I first heard "Oh Cherry"....

I do also know that Journey did replace Steve with another man named Steve who sounds just like Steve Perry, cause I heard them a few yrs ago on like GMA or something like that.
