Woman Arrested After She Allegedly Spanked Stranger's 2-Year-Old in Store

CINCINNATI — Police say a woman has been arrested for allegedly spanking another person's 2-year-old son in a Cincinnati store.

Gloria Ballard was due in a Hamilton County on Wednesday to face an assault charge.

Cincinnati police say the toddler said something that apparently annoyed Ballard inside a Salvation Army store on Tuesday. Police say she then told the boy's mother she didn't know how to take care of her son, put him over her knee, and spanked him three times.

Police say the two women didn't know each other and that the 44-year-old Ballard wasn't given permission to touch the child.

There was no attorney listed for Ballard.

All I can say is W...O...W. I would never do that. I also don't think the woman should have touched the child either.

I do admit though that I get very irritated when parents don't dicipline or control their child when needed. I have enough patients, though, to not blow up and wail on somone else's child. It's just rediculous.

I have been in the presence of some very annoying kids, but I walk away rather than hurt them. My kid is pretty well behaved, but has said some things that have made me want to melt into the floor. Most of its very innocent and purely commenting on something around her. That said, if anyone EVER grabbed her and struck her, I would open up a whole can of whoop and there would be one sorry individual who had personally been witness to the results of the STS series.

Heck yeah! I don't care what any kid does (especially a darn 2 year old!), we can't just go around hitting anyone who annoys us! And my 2 year old son can be annoying, I'll admit it, but if anyone ever hit/spanked him, they better hope I can control myself. I discipline him as much as possible with re-direction, time outs, taking away priveliges, removing him from the situation, etc., but he is just a 2 year old after all.
