Another rebounder Q: Is it intense enough?

Hello Educated Crowd,

Several years ago, I tried a rebounder, but I seem to recall that I did not get a very challenging workout. While I love doing HIIT-style workouts, now that I am older (as are my knees), I am wondering if I could do some of the higher-impact moves on a rebounder without sacrificing the intensity of the workouts. I love very intense, challenging workouts.

So, what do you think? Should I give the rebounder another try?

TIA

Yes. Try it!

I never thought it was *that* intense until I wore my HRM while on it. Surprise!

I have done FitPrime G-Force 2 with Carol Britton and my heart rate can get quite high depending on the moves. I was shocked yet thrilled because I love my rebounder. :)

My mini trampoline is amazing! I also use a simple but effective body powered, Stair Climber. Watching TV with it, makes the time fly by. Also using Cathe's Tower bar with the trampoline makes you stay balanced if need be.

I read up on this a while back, even NASA did studies on the benefits of the rebounder. I found this article the other day.

Thing is perceived exertion is kinda like the elliptical, doesn't seem like your working that hard, but it works so much, I like the balance part, I like that part of stepping too.

I just used my rebounder yesterday to do a "high-knees' section of a workout (that I turned into a 'fast-as-I-could" sprint on the rebounder. It's a move I wouldn't have done on the floor, but that I could go all-out on using the rebounder.

You can also get an intense workout doing cardio interval workouts on the rebounder (again, sprinting as fast as you can during the intense segments).

I've also used my rebounder to sit on during ab work: it adds a bit of a balance (and therefore core) challenge. (As long as a piece of equipment is set up in my living room, I'll find some way to use it!)
