i posted this in the sts forum too but just in case it gets overlooked: i read some posts from users who use the ankle weights on their wrists to increase lifting by a smaller amount than switching to a heavier set of dumbells. i want to take advantage of the $10 off shopcathe.com, but im not sure which set to get. any suggestions?

Melissa,

I am not sure because I do not own them, but I don't think any of Cathe's ankle/wrists weights are adjustable. You can adjustable ones at sporting goods stores.

I just bought some 1 lb wrist weights at Marshall's the other day for $5.00. I'd doing STS and I really need a 1 lb increment. I like them.

ankle / wrist weights

I have found wrist weights in 1lb, 2lb, and 3lbs sizes. You just have to look around for them. I found the 3lb weights at Marshalls for a good price. I like to use the weights that are velcos. So they are easy to put on and off fast. It worked great for STS. Make sure they wrap around your wrist. If you use the kind which go over the thumb. It is very hard to use your dumbells.

Over the years I have also found odd size Dumbell weights such as 4,6,7,9 lbs. Using the wrist weights and these Dumbells, I can move up in weights slowly. My Dumbells don't match. Some are plastic coated, some are round cast iorn, and some are octagon cast iorn. Who cares they work!
