Need some help from the educated crowd. Recently I have begun to experience severe ankle pain after years of doing step. The pain is concentrated on the inside of the foot, slightly below the ankle bone, and slightly forward radiating to the front of the foot (kind of in the side of the arch portion of the foot). I have replaced sneakers numerous times, tried ankle braces, and even saw a podiatrist who brushed off the pain as "getting older" (I am 40 and I refuse to accept this.) Has anyone else experienced this type of pain? I am considering going to a "sports medicine" type of doctor. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks for any advice, the pain some days is so severe it is beginning to restrict my workouts and daily activity!

See another doctor!! My podiatrist always says that no one should have to live with foot pain. Especially if it's that severe. The sooner the better. Good luck!
