anaerobics question

OK...this is definately going to point out my newness here...but what exactly is anaerobics, and how does this benefit your workout? I know that aerobics is working out in oxygen, so is anaerobics when you push yourself to being way out of breath? Hmmmm... I always thought that you had to work out aerobically in order to burn fat (huge goal of mine).

One other question - I've seen people mention "fat burning rotations"...where does one find these? I don't seem to see them under the rotations section of the forum...

Thanks everyone!!! This is such a wonderful place to get information on getting fit!!!

Anaerobic exercise is when your muscles stop receiving oxygen, which has an effect on fat burning but I'm not gonna even try to explain the physiology of it since I'm far from an expert. There are a bunch of threads about this if you want to do a search, I remember there being quite a few in the Ask Cathe forum.

There's another message board called video & dvd rotations, maybe you could find the fat burning rotation there.

Oh & I almost forgot--welcome to the community! :)
