An off the wall question for the educated crowd

My dad just got back from a cruise to Alaska, and peaked my interest in a cruise for myself.

Where is the best place to search for a reasonably priced cruise? I don't really care where it is to, I just want to get on one those big boats and be pampered! I'd be happy to stay on the boat and not go on shore until it's time to go home.

Any good experiences to report? I'd be starting from Cleveland and going wherever, so that's the air situation.

Thanks all you folks with the answers to everything!!:7

My husband and I went on a Renaissance Cruise to Greece and Turkey. IT WAS FABULOUS! The boat was very luxurious and the food was terrific. They also have wonderful tours that we took. It was all first class and the fares include airfare from New York. They are online but not sure of the exact address. Do a search. It's a trip of a lifetime and you definitely will not regret it! Good luck! Cyndie

Last night the Travel Channel had a show on the best cruises. Go to their website, http://travel.discovery.com. They have some info there.

I personally love the Eastern Caribbean cruises. There are some nice islands to stop at over there. When I checked on prices the Carnival Cruise line was the least expensive. But I hear that the other lines are more luxurious.

I think everyone should go on at least 1 cruise in their life. It was a great experience.

Good Luck and let us know if you decide to go.

Arghh! One of the teachers at my school actually goes on cruises ALL the time--I think she may even do some arranging of cruises for people. Unfortunately, she is on a cruise (to Alaska, no less!) right now, and really won't be back all summer. I am so bummed--I think she would have been a great resource for info on this one, Honeybunch...
The other responses looked like they will be helpful :)

I've always wanted to go on a cruise too. My sister went on one last year but I don't know who she arranged it through. Maybe it's time for me to start looking into this instead of dreaming about it! I appreciate all the info posted too.
