Amy Bento All Pump Extreme

I just purchased Amy Bento's All Pump Extreme. It's a 120m weight w/o- Has anyone else tried this one? 120 minutes for a weight w/o seems like to overdoing it to me? Is it better to split it up or is it okay to do the whole thing all at once. I have enough time- so this isn't an issue. any thoughts?

I don't think it's meant to be done all at once. I borrowed it from netflix and did the upper body portion of it, hoping it would sub for pyramids (I've never done pyramids, but I don't think it was really much like pyramids, from what I can tell). I have enough cathe for leg work, so never bothered with the leg portion.

If there are any Amy fans here, I have a question about her slo-mo -- does it compare at all with Cathe's slow & heavy, or is there just no comparison?

thanks,

Thanks for your response. The Pyramid is a great w/o. You start off with light, medium, heavy, then work your way back down. I just did Pyramids for the first time this week and now have DOMS from the Pyramid Lower Body.

i have NO idea why she made the intial workout like that but i get much use out of the premixes!! the total body one is not as flowing as say like cathe's total body premixes but after you done the workout a couple of times you know what to expect. i think this would be good for one body part, or 3-4 day splits. 3 of the premixes are actually for 3 day split rotation.

but she does each body part before going on so you exhaust one muscle group before moving on to the next so you are not alternating muscle groups for two hours.

I LOVE Amy's slo-mo - it is different from Cathe's, but I just finished a rotation using them both. I think Cathe's is more traditional moves, while Amy's is geared to more non-tradional moves. It is a great workout and well worth the investment. IMO Amy just keeps getting better with every workout.

I love Amy's Slo-Mo! For her leg premix is killer-it makes me feel new muscles the next day! I have all of the Cathe workouts and this one is different (I think it involves more core moves)! I highly recommend it. This was my first Amy Bento workout and I'm a big fan. I match Cathe on her weights on 99% of her workouts-not with Amy. I'm thinking about getting Amy's All Pump Extreme now.

I regularly work out/weight train for 120 mins continuously, but when I do I am not working the whole body. I usually work legs thoroughly, rest 5 mins with thorough stretching and then work 2 upper body muscle groups. I am thorough and it takes me this long. I do not think it is excessive: I am rarely completely exhausted at the end, just tired in a good, "I worked out hard today" way, I am getting good results and I enjoy it. I do take the odd total week off to thoroughly rest the muscles and also prevent mental fatigue and boredom from seeping in.

APE might be too much all in one go if Amy is working every muscle to exhaustion all at once. You want to feel fatigued, like you deserve a great meal and hot shower, not like someone has wiped the floor with you and you need medical assistance to get to bed!

I think longer workouts are something to work up to, they are not for beginners. But also, I think it depends upon your mind set and what works for you.

You should certainly feel free to carve up APE into sections and spread it out over 2 or 3 days. Amy herself would be the first to encourage you to do exactly that!
