Amputee workout?

Hi all!! I am fairly new here, but am totally obsessed with Cathe! I have recorded all of her shows off of FitTV, and have purchased Cardio Fusion and Butts & Guts.

My boyfriend has been watching me do my Cathe workouts and is really impressed by my improvements and wants to start working out too. He lost his right leg in Iraq, so he can't do any kind of lower body workout or floorwork. Any ideas on which video to get next? Also, it has to be one of the lower priced ones, because we don't have that much $ to buy the 4-day split or things like that. (a girl can dream though!)

Cathe has some excellent upper body workouts (Gym Syles for example) and many of her other workouts have upper body premixes. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for your boyfriend but I truly admire his moxy.

I'm with Beavs - your boyfriend has grit! Good for him!

Can he do core work? Core Max has a good floor workout, and he can probably do some of the exercises in the other two workouts on that DVD.

I love the Gym Style upper body workouts. They're truly excellent, and they focus on heavy lifting, which he might like.

Hi trixie108,

Cathe's Push-Pull/Supersets DVD has a good upper body pre-mix. Does your boyfriend have use of his left leg? I know in this DVD, Cathe does some upper body work while balancing on one leg in order to improve core strength. I think she also includes one-legged squats in this one as well.

Also, don't forget core work! He has to keep that core strong. Cathe's Ab Hits and Core Max are both great for that. Core Max does have some moves where you hold a medicine ball or stability ball between the legs, but the ball use could be modified or omitted all together and he'd still get plenty of ab burn.

HTH :)

Wow. I just wanted to say "thank you" to your boyfriend first and foremost.

I think Gym Styles might work out really well, they are more like actual gym workouts, oh and what about the weight workouts in 4DS?

Unless there's some specific reason why not, he could probably also do 1-legged squats, which would be good for strengthening his left leg and helping with balance.
